Great taste, and claimed to be free of heavy metals ...
I'm surprised this product has no reviews. I have tried many different brands of 100% cacao, and this one has a distinctive taste that I really like. (Not to say I don't like others, but I will be reordering this one.) Unlike most other products, they claim to be tested for and free from heavy metals ... I'm hoping they're right about that part, as it's pretty hard to find products that even mention whether or not they have been tested.

Baking chocolate, perhaps
This is one bar of "chocolate"; the packaging on the inside was difficult to rip open and needed scissors. It seemed intact, although the bar was broken into many pieces. very easy to snap off a small square and break that in half as well.It must have melted at some point, or this was a bad batch because the bar was discolored in several places. The expiration date says 8/2026, which is more than a year in the future.I took the smallest bite of this after sharing a little with my spouse, she immediately spit it out and stated it was the darkest dark chocolate she's ever had. It was not chocolate. I also endured some, barely enough for a mouse. OH MY, it wasn't very pleasant like taking a spoonful of baking chocolate as a child. Regrets were had. Water could not flush that taste out of my mouth. This package states 0 sugar, believe it. Instead, I will melt some down and add all the sugar and see if hot chocolate will taste good with the remainder of this NOT chocolate bar.

Awesome chocolate
FAFO, not your Hersey’s chocolate, find a recipe online for hot chocolate as this was the best tasting hot chocolate I’ve ever had or made

The best unsweetened chocolate
This is true ceremonial grade cacao, and one of the best I’ve come across. It’s made from wild strains grown in Peru and sourced directly from Awajún communities, which is something I really appreciate. They even specify that this is fresh from the 2024 harvest, which shows a level of transparency you don’t often see in the chocolate industry.Despite being completely unsweetened, the cacao is surprisingly delicious and easy to eat on its own. It has a nice fruitiness and depth of flavor without the bitterness you usually get in unsweetened chocolate. This is one of the only unsweetened chocolate products I’ve ever genuinely enjoyed eating straight.Overall – this is a high-quality, ethically sourced cacao bar with a really great flavor and traceability. It’s a healthy, natural product clearly made by a company that respects the complexity of real cacao.

Not for me
Honestly I had a bite of this and threw the rest away. I didn't give 1 star because I'm sure some people like it but I just didn't. It felt gritty and stale, but maybe I just got an older one. It could just be my tastes, but this just wasn't for me.

100% cacao
These cacao bars are very rich and intense! They are packed with intense flavor and a lot of amazing health benefits. However there is no added sugar to it and I wont recommend it to eat on it's own. You can melt it with other sweetened chocolate for coating. The packaging is beautiful, and it feels amazing to buy a bar that’s from ethical sourcing. It is sourced from Peru. I’ll probably not buy to eat on its own but may be to mix with something or baking.

Pure Cacao is not for the traditional chocolate lover
I love chocolate, and I love to try different chocolates from around the world. Unfortunately, a 100% cacao bar - which includes zero sugar - also makes for a bitter taste that lingers on the palate, and not in a good way. If you're used to 100% cacao bars that are sugar free, then this one will probably not disappoint. However, I like my chocolate with a *little* bit of sweetener, whether that comes from sugar cane, keto-friendly sugars like Splenda, or natural sugars like honey or agave. Without any sweetener to balance the bitter cacao taste, this bar was a no go for me. I ended up using it for baking, where I could melt it down and add sugar to it myself.
