Big Band Bossa Nova

WoW! this is an incredible audio disc. Quincy Jones was the man back in the day, you want big band, you want swing, you want that Bossa Nova sound, you get it all here. the music has an incredibly large soundstage with great stereo seperation, every instrument is clearly defined. yes, the disc is 2.0 but that doesn't take away anything from this well mastered piece of classic audio at it's finest. the first track, well, that's for all us Austin Powers fan, it's the opening title to Austin Power....BABY, BEHAVE! you will find your toes tapping and you may on many occasions find yourself up dancing a cha-cha!i love this kind of music so if you want some of the best in high resolution stereo in PCM, DTS-HD-MA or Dolby TrueHD in 2.0, this is the disc you want. i'm a proud owner, wish they make more of stuff like this. put it on at a party and your friends will love you for it. Run, don't walk to buy this one!

You bought this CD hoping that the other tracks would be as memorable as the "Austin Powers song" which is track 1 on this CD. I regret to inform you that this is not the case, the rest is ... let's say less approachable. For someone not specifically a fan of 1960s big band music it sounds like what a movie would play in a hotel lobby or elevator to make it sound like the 1960s, in other words, generic and forgettable for someone who is not specifically a fan of 1960s big band music.

This is an excellent album. Great Big Band instrumentals of some well-known songs.

The performances and arrangements here are really exquisite. Great sound, although period-correct in terms of mix (it adds to the charm). I wish someone would record something similar today, so we could have a proper 5.1 experience. I am very happy to own this.

Great old Bassanova recording brought back in hidef. Sounds great. Big band arrangements from Quincy Jones of some of the Bossanove classics remastered in 24/192 Bluray sound. I havent heard it on vinyl yet, but this brdvd sounds great.

I ordered this because I love new formats. I already have a few DVD-Audios and one SACD. I played this disc in my BDP-S5000ES which has great DACs, the sound was amazingly clear and full of atmosphere! My only disappointment and this is quite a large one is that it doesn't seem to come with the promised FLAC download of the music for portable use. If anyone has managed to do this either directly with the blu-ray player using mShuttle or anotherway let me know...
