This book will support any educator who hopes to apply the UDL framework in her classroom. Dr. Novak outlines great ideas for implementing the rich principles of universal design in any classroom. Novak points out that teachers should start out small and build on success as they weave the principles across multiple courses. I think the most important aspect of this book is how to implement student voice and choice. Novak shares various strategies for communicating with and involving students in their learning opportunities. Educators need to "trust them enough to be transparent about our practice" and "value their input." Novak shares a host of "choice assignment" options that can be used with your students that allows them to show what they know.

This book puts into words in lay man's terms the intricate theories and philosophies by which teachers are utilizing to make the most of the educational experience.The ease of the writing and fluidity make it captivating reading as if you were in the midst of a novel... except this information is extremely valuable educational strategies that give teachers the tools and parents the insight into this incredible educational design. As a parent who wants to be informed about my children's ability to learn this book helped me do just that. I appreciate the approachable nature of this and recommend everyone from educator, principle to parent tonpurchase this book.

Lots of information in this book. It's one you can read once really fast and then you go back a second and third time to read for more details and understanding. Good book!

Well written with many clear and helpful examples that can be used the next day. The templates are very well done in such a way that they can be used in all grade levels

I picked up this book by Katie and had a hard time putting it down. Her style of writing is so real world, especially with her use of analogies and examples. I find myself taking it on trainings and using it as a resource. THANK YOU KATIE!
