Replacement Inline Skate Buckles and Straps

Fit perfect on my aincent Rollerblade Lightnings. Strap works with old buckle, no need to change it. Strap is extra long, trim necessary.If you aren't comfortable drilling out a couple of rivits, and don't have a stubby flat head screwdriver, this might not be the project for you. Otherwise a 15 minute simple job.

I saved my son's favorite pair of Roller Blades!!! Drilling out the old rivets was easy, as the metal was soft, probably aluminum. I used a 1/4 inch drill bit. The new screw-together rivets worked perfectly. The straps were much longer than needed, so I cut a few inches off with scissors. The straps were also wider than the existing receiver, which I did not want to replace. So, I placed the side of the strap on a grinding wheel to remove about 1/16 inch. So, I did not need the new receivers, only the strap/buckle. All together it was about a fifteen minute job. My son is delighted he uses the skates every week.

These buckles installed fine, but do not stay buckled when the skates are on.

Works like they should. to pull out the straps from the small clasps, you have to just push the clasps back, which works fine, but it's a slightly odd. The quality is ok, the plastic feels a little cheap and it has some excess flash, but it works ok so far. They lock in place well so far, and I like having the locking mechanism.The straps are quite long, I had to trim them way down. I like the sort of universal attachment method witht he brass flat nuts. This allowed me to add these straps to my motorcycle boots that didn't ever have straps, and whose velcro closure long ago lost it's hold. The boots are perfect now. I've been using them daily for about a month now and they work like a charm and aren't pulling through the boot.

It took a little modification and a few basic tools to make these fit but they work great now. It required drilling out a rivet to remove the old strap and drilling a second hole to install the new strap. The part that receives the strap would have been a bigger challenge to replace and the new strap was too wide to fit the original clip so I had to cut the straps long way with tin snips to allow them to fit in the clip. Overall, I am pleased with the product but it took a little effort to install.

Did not fit my bike roller blades because the ankle cushion was to thick had to remove it and use another screw for it

Great product. 2.5 years on and they're still holding up! The original plastic straps on most skates often degrade over time and will suddenly break for no known reason. I've used these straps on 2 sets of skates (mine and my wife's) and they are a great cost effective replacement if you only have one strap per skate. You'll likely have to use a grinder or dremel to cut the old ones off since they use rivets at the factory but after that, the holes lined up perfectly and it was just a matter of screwing the new ones in with the supplied fasteners. If your skates have more than one strap per skate, you might be better off picking up another pair as the cost will add up.

I'm very happy with these straps. They were easy to install & fit perfectly on my Seba FR1 80's. They were even a little longer than the straps that came with my skates which was an added bonus for me (big calves).
