Comic Relief: The Greatest... and the Latest [DVD]

The first disk is a montage of very short portions of numerous excellent comedians standup routines, but to appreciate modern observational comedy the comedian has to be allowed to build a rhythm with the audience and some of these clips just cut into the middle of a joke. Disk one is set over 10 years and its fun to see these famous comics age years in a few minutes. The second disk is one entire show so you see whole sets. Lewi Black, Chris Rock and George Carlin absolutely kill it. Its worth the price just don't expect to like all of it.

I remember watching the original Comic Relief with Whoopi Goldberg, Billy Crystal and Robin Williams (God bless his soul, R.I.P. my friend)The 3 of them were so FUNNY together. I would record it and watch it over and over again. I even ordered a sweatshirt way back when. In the '80's I think.

If lived through the. 80's & 90's you will love it.

Glad to have found this ! I watched them all 'direct' in the days. Of course, for the cause and the discovery of great comics. But also, because of Robin, Billy and Whoopi. The 'gem editing' was well done, the rythm and the momentum are electrifying. The reason why I've given a lukewarm 4 instead of high 5 is mainly that I would have loved so much to be able to watch the awesome full opening acts of each of the 8 Comic Relief again. There was nothing that Robin, Billy and Whoopi couldn't do and those openings were such a blast and the best possible way to produce a heatwave in the hearts of people. Great memories enjoyed nonetheless.

i was really hoping to meet robin williams some day, i'll miss him
