All the botanicals in Blackwoods Gin are handpicked on Shetland each year to give our gins their distinctive yet subtle flavour. Using a traditional copper still, we produce only in small batches.

Ok but not great
Ok but hi alcohol content means you cannot really enjoy the full flavour without making this into a longer drink than say with a 'normal' gin. I like my gin pretty strong and with a bite but found this to be ok for a small drink before dinner but not one I would drink over a longer period. Also reducing the ratio of gin to compensate for the higher alcohol content took away from the flavour and turns it into a fairly plain gin in that case.Back to the Sipsmiths or Hendricks .......

Not the 2012 Vintage shown in the photo
Product photo shows 2012 Vintage, what was delivered was 2017 Vintage which can be bought for less. Still good gin but not the year I was hoping for. Product description could have been clearer. Dissappointing.

Don’t be fooled by the 60% it’s smooth.
Blackwood 60 is simply the best gin ever made. Don’t be fooled by the 60% it’s smooth. Big gin glass, lots of ice, aromatic tonic and you’re on to a winner. Beware two or three of these will knock you about when you hit the fresh air!
