The whole replacement/installation process took about 5 minutes. Previously my Dell Inspiron 5547 would die as soon as I unplugged it from the charger. My laptop recognized this new battery immediately and it works like a charm. As an added bonus, the original battery that came with the laptop was a 43WH, this one is a 58WH. The only concern I have with this battery is its possible longevity or lack thereof. The factory installed battery lasted me about 5 years, and some of the reviews for this one cited failure early on in the first month. I will update this review accordingly.

This Battery was easy to install, was recognized by computer right away, no need to delete battery drivers and reinstall them. Couldn't ask for a better experience.Yes the price was higher than the same model battery by others but I've had trouble in the past with non-dell battery's , so much so I learned my lesson and you should learn from me Lol.

Ordered replacement previous that was not a Dell product. My Dell laptop rejected it, wouldn't come on without being plugged in.Ordered this Dell product and laptop works perfectly.

I installed the new battery and upon boot-up, I received an error message stating the battery had experienced permanent failure. It would not take a charge, either. Complete junk, right out of the new box.

Dell are THE most picky laptop when it comes to batteries and chargers. Often for no reason at all they will stop seeing a charger or a battery as the correct one for that laptop. I had bought a much less expensive 'compatible' battery because the reviews for it were good. But the Dell laptop didn't see it as a correct battery and would not charge it. I returned it and bought this OEM new Dell battery and it works perfect, immediately.

COMPLETELY rebuilt DELL Inspiron 15 5000 Series Laptop- used the very BEST I could find- THIS IS the BEST Battery for THAT Laptop- enough said.

According to my OS, the battery was charged at 75% which seemed fine however my LCD would flicker during boot and go blank once the OS loaded. Connected the power adapter and it would turn back on. Disconnect the power, display shuts off. Reinstalled the old battery I was looking to replace and everything works fine again. Returned.
