LOVE IT! No tangles!
Kasimir, the Russian blue, is wearing the tulip red model (hidden by his beautiful long hair that got tangled in every other collar).Would have given five stars but I find them rather pricey and was quite disappointed at being charged twice for shipping even though they weigh next to nothing and were sent in the same envelope ($8.98 + $6.48 ea).

Please Don't Stop Making These Ever!.....
This is not the first of these collars that I have bought over the years, I love this collar and my cat does too. The company has made improvements to the design over the years that have fixed many of the problems in some of the other reviews. This is the only collar I have found that does not wear the hair away on the neck of my allergy prone cat. It does not tangle in long hair, and my cat does not seem to care that he is wearing it so his tags stay attached. He does not scratch it constantly so it stays looking good without a bunch of frayed stringy-ness like other collars. These collars will last a few years and still look good. Some others have said that the metal sliders are bulky, and they are compared to the collar width, but not when compared to a regular collar. They are light weight, slide easily enough, and have not rusted with 24 hr wear. I am a little type A, so when I first get these collars I usually take an emery board and go over the edges on the sliders just to make sure they are smooth. Once I fit the collar to the cat adjusting it to the correct size I take a needle and thread and put a few stitches thru the double cord portion of the collar that is between the two sliders (while off the cat please) to keep it from sliding on the cat so that it breaks away at the breakaway tab where it is supposed to instead of changing size. You can then use the breakaway tab as a buckle if you need to remove the collar. No matter what collar you are using YOU MUST CHECK YOUR CAT'S COLLAR TO MAKE SURE IT IS NOT TOO TIGHT DAILY!!!.....its just common sense folks. My only complaint is that the ring that comes with this collar for the tags is way too big, but I usually have a few of the smaller ones around anyway so it's not a big deal. If you are looking to unburden your feline also check out PetHub.com for QR tags that will allow you to put all of your pets info (name tag, rabies tag, microchip tag, multiple phone numbers, medical info. etc. etc.....) on one light weight durable tag. This collar + One light weight aluminum tag = One very happy kitty :)

Flawed Breakaway Buckle?
No issues with the size adjustment here. This collar proved easy to adjust and it stayed at the size it was set to. I purchased this in hopes it would help my cat grow back the fur around her neck where other collars broke the hairs and left an unseemly “indent”.My cat wore it for about a month — I then took it off because I did not feel comfortable with the breakaway buckle. It was difficult to “break away”, even when pulling the ends straight apart from one another, like the instructions say to do.Unsure if I got a faulty buckle (perhaps an imperfect plastic mold on the one I received?), or if it’s standard. Wasn’t impressed enough overall to spend money on another to see if it worked any better. Also would like a bell option :) My Mia is an indoor cat, but wears a collar so I can hear her. I like knowing where she is, both for her safety and the safety of my small rodent pets who share the household.

Long time fan, first time reviewer
I've used these collars for a few years, and I finally got around to writing a review.First, let me say that I read the reviews thoroughly before making my first purchase. I have seen no quality issues and some of the other complaints expressed by other reviewers. Specifically, the breakaway latch is as secure as needed, not too loose and not too tight. The adjustment clamps are also just fine, not too slippery so my cats can't loosen them by pulling, and not too tight that I can't easily adjust the size.I have a shorthair that is a grooming expert. She is capable of finding even the smallest imperfection in her coat, and as a result she is the bane of any normal collar. I decided to try these collars as she destroyed a couple other types just by pulling/chewing on them. The collar performs as advertised. It sits on the body in such a light manner that the cat isn't even aware it's there. In fact, the only way the collar sees any action is if the name tag hangs too low (my fault, I used a couple rings as opposed to just attaching it to the collar directly) and she can catch it when she grooms her chest. Otherwise, even when her sister grooms her head and neck area, they hardly pay attention to the collar. Speaking of her sister, she is a long hair (medium coat, not quite the cousin It of the cat world) she has personally tested the breakaway function. In fact, thanks to the bright color of the collar the landscaping service for my neighbor saw it and called me to let me know they found it. Only collar I ever used that I ever got back after the cat lost it.In conclusion, great product, good quality, and perfect for any cat that has problems with the wider collars.

Great customer service
The collar design you see in the photo does allow the collar to get larger without much force. I put this design on my cat and he lost the collar within a day. The seller followed up with me to ask how things were and I explained that I liked the design but my cat slipped his collar and I could not locate it. I did not hear anything back but just a few days later there was a NEW and new design collar in the mail with a letter (hand written) telling me that he had sent the collar no change and that this was a design that had not yet been for sale. The new design takes care of the slippage and still has a breakaway clasp. The fix seems simple enough ad there is now heat tape over the metal portions of the collar which make the adjustment just as simple as the original be much harder for the cat to expand. For those who have the collar now I would suggest taking players to the metal portions once they are adjusted to size so the cat cannot adjust his or her own collar but once the new collar is posted there is no need for this and even the most hardy outdoor cats should not be able to slip their collar but they will breakaway if needed. I never expected a replacement but it is always REALLY great to get unexpected customer service.
