Hands Down the Best Collar
Hands down the best cat collar I've found to date!My cat and I came to a resolve when she insisted on being an outdoor cat... a collar. I was using various basic collars until I noticed that she was losing fur around her neck. Other times I found crust (as if she scratched it or it rubbed her to rough).Since I spoil her with everything I figured it was time to find the best collar too. Checked [...] and other places and everyone seemed to have collars with hip designs but nothing really to help the irritation if wearing a collar 24/7.This is the collar I have been looking for. It is light and durable. It doesn't tightly wrap around her neck but loops around with the id tag sitting loosely on her chest. It has the breakaway feature so my little huntress doesn't get caught in anything while on the run. I bought 3 more. The Red with blue white speckle is adorable. :)Her fur is growing back and she is at her happiest... and I have one less thing to worry about :)P.S.: There have been complaints on other reviews about the collar not 'breaking away' - they fixed that some time ago so it snaps off easily.

and it might be fine for indoor and less active cats
I always have a reserve collar for my indoor-outdoor tom—it's not a question of if he will lose it, but when. I had this one waiting and was hopeful it would be the "one" that would withstand my young, active cat. The collar seemed a bit flimsy and "homemade," but that if it stayed in place, it wouldn't matter. It lasted two days before going missing. Standard breakaway collars have lasted, on average, 6-9 months. I do understand the appeal for owner's who have cats that don't tolerate a collar well, and it might be fine for indoor and less active cats.

Quality was not what I expected.
Pictures appear to use nice hiking rope but the actual received product was cheap nylon rope. The burnt edges at the ends of the rope were also a little sharp and probably abrasive against the skin. For the price I paid, I just expected a better product.

Too large for a kitten
Very clever idea, and a very nice collar, but, even adjusting it to the smallest size possible, it has HUGE on my kitten. He had it in his mouth, and then completely off within seconds. I wish it came in a smaller size : (

nice and light and thin
This collar is so nice and thin, yet strong enough to do its job, but breaks away at just the stress point needed. The cats don't mind wearing this thin collar as much as most other collars.

kitten collar
I purchased this collar for my kitten, found as a stray. She is a bit of a wild child. She took to wearing the collar right away, as it is very light and thin. It does release well, as she has already gotten it off twice. I put it a little tighter and it has stayed on her for a few days now. It is made of cloth materials, so will not cause allergic reactions on the skin as other collars are likely to do. I am glad I made this purchase.

Keep Looking
Metal pieces scratched cat's neck - enough to draw blood and leave scabs. Cat does not fight his collars and was not tugging, rubbing, or otherwise disturbing the collar. The damage was from normal wear. Not an expensive product, but lost $5 in original shipping and have to pay for return shipping too.

Not so safe...
I bought six of these collars for my five cats. (I bought an extra just in case one of the cats lost one.) I thought the colors were great, and I was happy with the idea of the material, as opposed to cheap vynil. They do look fashionable, I think, and are discreet enough to not take away from the beauty of the cat itself. However, these collars are NOT "breakaway" collars. They enlarge if they get caught on something, but this actually only adds its own problems. Several times my cats came home with one leg through the collar (and the collar extended as far as possible). I hated to think what would have happened if the cat had gotten the collar caught on something AFTER getting the leg stuck. One cat finally did come home without his, and I didn't replace it. Another came home with the collar around her chest (both front legs had gone through), and it was constricting her. I pulled to try to get it off, but it was obviously very painful, and in the end the only solution was for me to cut it off. I decided these collars are not very safe after all--too bad I bought six at once (the reviews at the time were pretty good, generally). I've taken them all off, and now my daughters can play with them on their stuffed animals. They look do look cute! I just don't trust them on live animals.
