Lovely soft antibacterial bamboo - perfect for sensitive skin
My daughter gets through no end of disposable makeup remover pads so when I saw these reusable bamboo pads I just had to buy them for her. It says they can be used up to 100 times so, unless my calculations are wrong, if she uses two pads per day these sixteen pads should last for over 20 years. I don’t wear makeup so I have no idea how much money this might save her.Of course, the cost of washing them has to be factored in, but they come in a small zipped plastic pouch which also contains a small, mesh, drawstring, laundry bag (similar in size to the ones that come with washing machine tablets) so they can just be put in the laundry bag and thrown in the washing machine with the family laundry, at no extra cost. I would not recommend doing this though, if you use biological washing liquids/powder/tablets as bamboo needs gentle washing in gentle chemicals to retain its properties.I love bamboo fabrics. I only discovered fabrics/clothing made from bamboo when my daughter was pregnant three years ago and, since then I have bought baby clothes, towels, flannels, and all sorts made from bamboo. I even bought my daughter bamboo breast pads, which were much more comfortable than disposable paper, polythene backed, pads. They also worked out much cheaper in the long run. She should have kept them and used them for removing makeup, but they were larger than these pads and she probably didn’t think of it at the time.Bamboo is plentiful, and it’s environmentally friendly. Fabric made from it is soft, and remains soft even after prolonged use and laundering. It has antibacterial properties too, so it does not become smelly or mouldy. It is to cotton what cashmere is to wool. My young granddaughter suffers from allergies and has eczema, so I thought my daughter could also use these pads on her daughter’s sore itchy skin during flare-ups. She and I love them.

Great product would recommend
Decided to purchase these after reading many reviews and wanting to "help the environment" by reducing my use of cotton wool pads. I agree with previous comments that these pads are larger than the purchased cotton pads, however I do not find this to be an issue.I have just learned to hold them differently and find that one side of the pad removes all my make up. I use the other side to use the toner or final Micellar water. For perspective I wear face and eye make up daily. The pads wash very well, I put the pads inside their draw string pouch in with my towels once per week on a 40 wash and they clean very well. However, one thing I notice is that I use waterproof mascara which is generally hard to remove, and this does slightly stain the pad slightly. I do not want to clean the pads on a 60 or 90 wash in case they shrink or come apart. This does not take away their usage - it just means a couple of the pads have some grey marks caused by the mascara.I used to use one pack of cotton wool pads per week and now I only use them to remove nail varnish - so one pack every 6 months literally. Therefore huge impact to landfill of cotton wool pads. I have not yet tried to use one of the washable pads to remove nail varnish as not sure how the nail varnish will wash. If I do try this will need to keep these pads separate from what i use on my face - if I try this i will update my review and let you know.So final report I would recommend this type of item, wished I had purchased these years ago so save both money and the environment.

100% worth it!
I'm so glad I invested in these. After reading about how bad disposable make up pads are for the environment, I knew I had to purchase reusable, but there were so many on Amazon I didn't know where to start! I've been using these for a month now and wanted to make sure I used them for a while before reviewing. The pads have stayed fluffy and soft, although be warned they are not as soft as disposable pads, but definitely still usable. The pads are quite large so I use one half to remove my waterproof mascara (with micellar water), and I use the other half to apply my toner after washing my face, therefore with 18 pads, using one per day, I don't ever feel like I'm running low. I always make sure I rinse the pad under warm water after I have used it, and then I place in the wash bag provided. I wash usually once as week on a 40 degree wash but I've accidentally washed on 60 degrees and also they have accidentally gone in the dryer a couple times - they are still fine, I was worried they might start to fall apart after being washed at a high temp. I normally lay them on a towel to dry after washing and they dry within a few hours. My only criticism is the bag probably isn't big enough to wash all 18 pads, but I wash once a week or so, so this isn't a big deal for me. It would be ideal if it came with two bags, one bag for clean pads and one bag for dirty, I use a small bag of my own for the clean pads. Either way, I love them and I highly recommend!

Environment friendly
Those makeup remover reusable pads are great. I used to buy those disposable cotton pads and spend a lot of money, as the majority of women know we use about 3 pads to remove our make up and others 3/4 applying skin care products through the day. A pack of 50 pads would last only up to 2 weeks. Another negative side of disposable pads is the environment, they are definitely not environment friendly and create a considerable amount of waste.Well, focusing on the washable makeup remover pads I want to emphasize a few pros: they aren't abrasive which is a good point when comparing to those wash clothes to remove makeup, they're super comfortable and soft. They're also easy to wash and absorb the product applied very well. The laundry bag is a really nice addition to the pads, you can put them in the bag as you make you of them during the week and wash all together once you there's none left to use.My only concern and suggestion would be to introduce different sizes and a high amount of pads in the package. This way it'd be complete, definitely perfect and would call the attention of more costumers.Overall, I'm very satisfied with the product and would recommend to anyone willing to buy this product.
