KEENWomen's Targhee 3 Waterproof Hiking Shoe

I bought my normal size and it slightly too big apart from that robust, waterproof wide shoe. I purchased these when they were on offer therefore extremely value for money.

Having decided to return these, because my right ankle was not very comfortable walking around the house, I have now changed my mind. I went shopping for some new walking shoes/boots, and they were all so cramped and uncomfortable - I have large, wide feet, so finding anything was difficult.I then decided to give these another chance. I tied the right lace a little differently, missing out the top loop. Walking around the house, they were now comfortable. We went for a 4 mile walk on some slightly difficult and slippy terrain - they were absolutely fine, and I didn't slide around in the mud. I had no blisters or rubbed patches! So glad I had been too busy to send them back!

These felt a bit clunky when I first put them on but after my first walk in them I've decided that I'm going to buy this brand forever. They support my flat feet and give me plenty of room to wiggle my toes. They have a wide toe which is great for bunion sufferers. They didn't slip on the wet grass and were very stable through the muddy puddles. My feet were dry! I thought I might miss the cushioning of the brand that I normally buy but a good fit is more important and the insole in these gives support rather than squish. Hope they last a long time, they certainly look like they should.

Out of the box and on to the feet. No blisters, no issues. Just a very comfortable pair of walking trainers. Trekked and hiked around the Amazon and the Galapagos - no issues on any surface rough or otherwise. They survived all terrains and all temperatures, wet and dry. Excellent pair of walking trainers. Worth the price paid.

So, let me paint you a picture of shoes so ridiculous, that no mortal shoe has been found that make this woman sigh in comfort. I have a high instep, massively wide feet and for reasons known only to the mystics, my little toes turn out. I'm also a size 7. As you can imagine it's almost impossible for me to even pick out a pair of trainers.I have looked at Keen's shoes over the years and always thought them to look narrow and therefore be for the gifted of slim, beautiful feet.So, I decided to give these a chance, purely based on reviews -' I can send them back" was my thought.Awaiting torturous pain, I put these shoes straight on, then went for a 7 mile rough terrain walk. When I took them off later, I did not limp out of them.These shoes are beyond the limits of perfection. They are sturdy and fix my feet in place, they are fully waterproof and the laces do not budge. I genuinely don't think I have ever had a pair of shoes that fit this well in my life and I have spent fortunes.I am now looking up to see what other shoes they do, because I'm going fully Keen for everything. Boots for winter, sandals, heck, if they do a trainer, I'm having them!!If it's at all a downside, they are VERY wide fit, so unless you have potatoes for feet as I do, you will have to wear thick socks.

On taking the shoe out of the box I was pleased with the overall look. Nice colouring, look robust and waterproof. They are wide fitting so much so that I double checked on the box that they hadn’t sent me a mans size 8. Having condemned my previous boots to the bin I put these on to walk my dogs. For those reading this review these shoes were purely bought to wear dog walking through woods, fields, beach nothing hardcore.I found even just putting the shoe on painful around my ankle bones as it’s so rigid there is very little give or cushioning. Having read the reviews saying these were good to go I thought I would find that a short walk, around 2 miles would see a difference. Nope!Walking down a mid steep hill with slightly uneven ground the rigidity of the top of the shoe became more marked. Although the ground wasn’t overly uneven there was very little / no ankle support. So over marked uneven ground I feel you could twist your ankle in these.I have been wearing these now for 2 weeks. The ankle area is still painful to the point I have bought various thickness of sock to accommodate the rigidity. Once on and walking they feel a little better, but still not 100% comfortable around the ankle bone. Everywhere else around the toes, foot, even lower ankle they are comfortable.Overall feeling had I tried these on in a shop I would NOT have bought them purely because of the ankle bone area and the discomfort. If these hadn’t had this problem I would have been delighted with them and given them a 5 star rating.

Very happy with these shoes. I always struggle to get shoes that don't pinch my wide feet. I ordered my normal size 5 and the fit was great. Rounded toe on the shoe helps. The shoes would suit anyone needing extra width, just pull the laces tighter to suit your fit.As an additional review, I've just returned from a trip to Peru and these shoes other when I was in bed were permanently on my feet. Also a few days before going on holiday I broke my little toe. These shoes were brilliant, comfortable, supportive and no foot pain. If I could give these shoes 6 stars I would.

I have a bunion on my left foot at the ripe old age of 41. So a roomy toebox is a must. I really wanted to like these shoes but my heels slipped alot when I tested them in my house on carpet. So, I returned them. They were comfortable on my feet and didn't weight enough to make me think they'd be cumbersome after wearing all day. They appeared to have good quality stitching and and were comfortable to wear other than the slippage. I sure wish they would have fit my foot better.

I did go into a store to try these on to get my size, then came to Amazon to get the best price. The quality is very good extremely comfortable, and they look good as well. Perfect for hiking and I won't lie I were them shopping sometimes.

Excellent product, per usual

Used shoes in wet weather and walking through wet grass in the morning. After less than 2 months both my toes are wet when doing it. Obviously a seem lets dampness through. Even when prayed with waterproofing spray.Otherwise shoes are comfortable and I was extremely happy to have bought them.Not now.

Water resistance, very comfortable for hiking. High quality. Very happy wearing them.
