The Very Best Of Mario Lanza

I liked this compilation of Mario's recordings, selected to display why he was adored by a faithfulpublic who otherwise might not have enjoyed opera. A shining star who shone too briefly.

Here we have a collection of some of the best songs that Mario Lanza recorded - from opera through to Neapolitan love songs. While not the best tenor in the world, he exudes warmth, mischief, and sincerity - which is probably why he is much loved by those that adore him.The analogue transfers to the digital medium - while nowhere near as warm or as dynamic as the vinyl recordings - and lack the realistic 'punch' that vinyl delivers - are clean and clear, and Lanza is in fine voice.A bargain!

Delivery was fast, my grandmother was very happy with it.

Not a brilliant recording but it's not modern so didn't expect it to be perfect. Still loved it !!!

This is certainly not the very best of Mario Lanza.The songs nr8-18-19 and 20 are from the Broadway album who is the worst from the collection.On the label list they are some mistakes.O sole mio is from 1949 and not from 1959Vesti la Giubba is from 1950Celese Aida is from 1950

Bought this CD one because my mother died recently and I want to play Ave Maria and Danny Boy at her funeral next week. Found both on this CD. I think they were even next to each other. Great sound on these CDs. I'm very pleased with the speed of delivery and quality of packaging too.

What fantastic value this was. Two cds of the lovely voice of Mario Lanza. Enjoyed hearing some wonderful classics I hadn't heard in a long time.
