Q: How wide can they stretch in the calf?

Not sure how to answer your question aside from sharing that I am 5'5" and weigh 300 lbs, and these fit me perfectly.

Q: how many pairs per pack?

One pair per pack. My husband wears a plastic lower leg brace and Mysocks are a perfect cushion against his skin. They are thin yet soft and absorbent. His physical therapists have recommended them to others.

I just hang to dry, but I’m sure you could dry on low. I just ordered based on shoe size
