Love

The movie is OK. No Plus or Mini's: It's about being a year into college let's say, for an example. Every college boy thinks of this. I had my wild time, had my kicks. When you meet the right girl, the being best friendship comes first. If you both think for the other and not for yourself first. Trust me. SEX will always be Greater each time you share the many moments. That is when you really have to thank God, for bringing you the one you need. My son lives in Europe. When I brought up this movie. He smiled. "Dad, being there done that. Coming home in Summer I found a "Keeper, mom will like". I see the Apple did not fall far from Poppas tree" .. Ate the Oats, then found a Keeper"....

Typical Noe by way of the manner he approaches this subject. Not a typical break up film, but one with heart. Covers a lot more of the emotional pain and frustration that follows a break up. If you like raw and intelligent movies with depth, I imagine this is one you would enjoy.

Can't play on my DVD player due to region????

One of the most intensely sensual movies I have ever seen. It is not "porn," but some scenes are very explicit and graphic.There is one scene (1 or 2 min) at the very end that I don't quite understand, and for that reason, I usually stop watching at that point.

While I appreciate the filmmaker's dedication to making a realistic, explicit film about broken people, the fact that they cast a man who has no skillsets whatsoever (other than being attractive) was a consistent downer throughout. Ultimately it kind of serves the plot, I suppose.It's worth watching once if you're already a fan of French films exploring broken characters, and aren't bothered by explicit activities.

Its hard to figure if this takes arthouse films to a new & more controversial level..or hardcore adult cinema to an arthouse level. By the time its over, I felt like I knew the characters personally. Its about a love affair that tragically ended. Acting well above average considering & sex scenes are real, passionate & intense. Some people who see LOVE may identify with the film at some level. The vibrant 3D cinematography adds to the reality..lots of very steady camera movement. There is one intense & dazzling confrontational scene in a euro disco with lasers firing at the camera that is almost worth seeing on its own. And a nice music score throughout the film. LOVE moves at a very slow pace..so you might want to see it in sections. I speculate that the stars of LOVE were in, at the time a solid relationship while making it..but there are no making of bonus materials to confirm or deny. The blu ray 3D disc ships from europe and requires a Region 2 blu ray player. To my knowledge, this 3D version is the first time it has been offered in other than a (red/blue glasses) anaglyph release & beyond that softer dvd version.

BUYER BEWARE!!I have searched, without success, for a version of this film that will play in a Blu-Ray player sold in North America and capable of playing only blu-ray discs created for the North American market (Region 1). I saw this film on the big screen, in 3D, at the 2015 CIFF. I have wanted to own a copy of this boundary-moving piece of cinema.I bought this blu-ray disc without noticing that it would only work in blu-ray players sold in Europe (Region 2) or more expensive, region free players, sold world-wide.I only learned I could not play the disc, when I put it in my machine and it would not play. The seller, Chalky's CA, is in Britain and will not provide a refund for someone like me, who broke the seal on the blu-ray.If you live in N. America, before you buy, ensure that the disc will play in Region 1. Then, buy it before I do.

Wo fange ich an... ich habe mir den Film mit keiner großen Erwartungshaltung bestellt. Ich las die Beschreibung und dachte mir: "Hm, also im Grunde ein Porno mit Story." Glücklicherweise ist es genau umgekehrt.Bis auf eine Disco-Szene am Anfang, die holprig daherkommt und unrealistisch wirkt, ist LOVE hochwertig produziertes Kino. Der Film handelt von einer jungen Liebe, die so leidenschaftlich ist, dass sie letztlich an dieser Leidenschaft zerbricht. Romantik, Wärme, Vertrauen, Freiheit, Schmerz, Verletzlichkeit, Trauer, Wut... eben LIEBE! Und ja, natürlich auch Sex - damit wird nicht gegeizt. In diesem Film wird gefickt. Habe ich mich im Ton vergriffen? Nein! Es wird GEFICKT, und zwar was das Zeug hält. Die Kamera schaut hier nicht weg, wenn's zur Sache geht. Unzensiert und schnörkellos präsentiert uns der Regisseur einen sehr privaten Einblick in das Liebesleben des jungen Paares. LOVE richtet sich - ganz extrovertiert und selbstverständlich - an Menschen, die noch einen Funken Leidenschaft verspüren. Frigide Stiefmütterchen werden an diesem Film sicherlich keine Freude haben.Der Film kann nicht nur mit den (sehr sehenswerten) Sexszenen punkten, sondern auch mit einer unerwarteten Tiefgründigkeit, die er - so ganz nebenbei - aus dem Ärmel schüttelt. Und er weiß, zu überraschen. Gerade in den Szenen, die längere Gespräche mit sich bringen und man hofft, dass der Streifen nicht zum pseudo-intellektuellen, schnarchlangweiligen französischen Arthouse-Murks verkommt. Denn genau DANN wird man vom nächsten Höhepunkt überrumpelt. Und der ist hier wörtlich zu verstehen.Unter'm Strich bleibt zu sagen: Trotz (oder gerade wegen) aller Explizität ist LOVE ein sehr authentischer Film, der sich nicht scheut, den entscheidenden Schritt weiter zu gehen. Vielleicht mag die Behauptung gewagt (und Ansichtssache) sein, aber LOVE kann sich klammheimlich einen Platz auf dem Siegertreppchen der realistischsten Liebesfilme ergattern. Ich persönlich hoffe auf eine Fortsetzung, denn das Filmende bietet keinen zufriedenstellenden Abschluss.PS: Wer im Besitz der entsprechenden Technik ist, dem sei die 3D-Version ans Herz gelegt. Sie macht inhaltlich keinen Unterschied, aber spielt in der einen oder anderen Szene ihre Vorteile aus. Kenner des Films wissen, wovon ich spreche...

Me gusta mucho el uso que hace Gaspar Noé de las 3D con fines dramáticos. Enmarca a los personajes en el umbral de una puerta o a través de una ventana, en un mundo de simbólicos colores vivos, donde las 3D dan verdadera profundidad a las distancias entre los protagonistas. Es lenta pero no se hace lenta, imprime su propio ritmo y sus propias obsesiones. Para amantes de Noé, y amantes en general!
