Good Sturdy Sock Yarn that Just Keeps Going
I've been using Patons Kroy Sock to knit socks for years, and it never disappoints. It's sturdiness is surpassed by none. My husband burns through socks -- even the sturdiest heavy duty commercial socks last AT BEST 6 months with him. The socks I knit him with Kroy - which are used regularly, at work, hiking, etc, just like commercial socks, never die. His oldest pair is over 8 years old and hasn't even needed mending yet.I also really enjoy the texture of the yarn, it's not supersoft, but that's not what I want for socks. It's rustic and hardy and feels good.

Soft
I'm using this to make a scarf and it's good quality. So issues with knots or shedding

Wonderful color combination
The quality is good in terms of softness, strength, and colors, but it's a little too expensive if you want to make a sweater or something.

Love this product!
Arrived on time. Love this yarn. TO THE COMPANY, I wish that it was the yardage stated and thickness, only consistency is the weight. With the price increase a year ago last summer, I don't feel I can donate as many wool knit hats as I was. Winter weather in WV can be very cold and wool is so easy to work with, and is so easy my hands. Only a couple of the very thinner ones will make a woman's hat.

Patons Kroy--My fave!
Over the years, I've tried a number of sock yarns. This one is my favorite. It has a pleasant "hand", tends not to be "split-y", is colorfast, and hard-wearing. If washed as directed, it will not felt, but even if washed in warm water, in the wash machine with other stuff, and dried in the dryer, it still doesn't seem to felt or pill (although I wouldn't recommend it). I never need to swatch with Kroy (after the first pair of socks), so I can just pick up the needles and start knitting (I use my own pattern) because the quality is so uniform. The two criticisms I have are (a) they have no fashion colors in solids--just the same basic colors, a couple of greys, black, cream, a deep navy and a beige, and (b) they are so heavy into self-patterns and self-stripes. These are just minor criticisms, though. It's still my #1 go-to for sock knitting!
