Second and a half time was the charm!
A few notes on installing the Lund Genesis tonneau cover. Specifically on a 2106 Colorado extended cab, six foot box. I watched three different YouTubes about installing Lund roll-ups, all of which made it seem simple, straightforward, done in an hour. So, open the box and have at it!First, the clamps that secure the side rails to the pickup box. The top section of the clamp has a groove that, for the clamp to grip properly, has to fit over a corresponding ridge that runs the length of the side rails. The instruction sheet could (and should) be more explicit about that. This instruction sheet isn’t better or worse than average, just could be more detailed about the specific model it’s in the box with. Anyway, it did take some head scratching to realize that if the clamp didn’t engage this ridge, it wasn’t going seat squarely and hold properly. Or hold at all.Second, the foam seals along the side rails. Major hassle, here. As per the instruction sheet, I peeled off the white tape than covers the foam. And with much messing with the clamps, got both side rails mounted. Now comes the part where you bolt the cab end rail between the two side rails. Or attempt to. Because it turned out that the end piece was a good half inch too long to fit between the rails. No way was it going in there. I took the side rails off, undoing all the work I’d gone through to get the clamps clamped. At this point, I was thinking about packing the whole business back in the box (having taken care to keep the box as intact as possible, just in case) and getting a return label printed. But, with some study, I realized that there are two layers of foam on the side rails, an outer layer about 3/8ths thick and the inner layer maybe 1/8th. So. Should I go ahead and try to peel the thick outside layer off? That should make the rails fit closer to the pickup box and thus farther apart from each other. That’s what I did. Not as easy to peel off the outer layer, I think, after I’d already squished the two layers together by clamping them onto the pickup box. Kind of a pain, really. But, having done that, I remounted the two side rails and sure enough, the end rail could now fit between them. Not by much, but enough. So, if you’re mounting the Lund rails on a Colorado, you might want to think about that. Pulling off the outside layer of foam. I assume the thick foam layer is for mounting on some other six foot box on some other model truck.Putting the clamps on the second time went a lot faster. Next step is to slide two shoulder bolts into the “T” shaped slots on the end rail. These bolts will fasten the end rail to the side rails. Only thing is, there are two identical looking “T” slots, about 1 ½ inch apart. Without labels or numbers. The instruction sheet is, again, not helpful as to which slot is the one you want. Nor were the YouTube videos.I chose the outside one (the one farthest from the actual cover mounting). Wrestling those bolts into the holes on the side rails is no Swiss Picnic, let me tell you. Basically doing it blind. But, having gotten them in, and the nuts run up snug, I finally unrolled my Lund tonneau cover and found….Found it ended about 1 ½” ahead of the latches. Clearly, the other “T” slot is the one that works with this truck box. It would be nice if these slots were numbered or lettered “A” or “B” or “1” and “2” or color coded. Or something. Or just say that it’s the slot closest to the inside of the pickup box or closest to the end gate. Whatever. I assume that the other unused slot is for mounting on a different pickup. So, unbolt the end rail again, move the shoulder bolts to slot number 2 or B or whatever, finagle the bolts back into the holes one more time, and put on the nuts. And now? The moment of truth.I unrolled the cover and sure enough, it lined up with the latches at the tailgate end. Success at last! So, if you’re mounting a Lund on your long box Colorado, it’s the “T” slot closest to the roll of vinyl cover. Not the one farther away. Now, one last problem, and this one’s fairly minor. I found that with the cover rolled out and latched, the tailgate was harder to close than it should be for longevity’s sake. Tighter than comfortable. It was not a big deal to loosen the side rail clamps (for the third time, getting pretty good at it now!) and before tightening them up, putting a thin shim between the end of the rail and the pickup bed at the tailgate end. A thin washer, in this case. Retightening the clamps this time left just enough clearance to close the tailgate without binding. Pull the washers out and done. The tailgate opens and closes just about right. The cover material seems to be as thick and (I hope) durable as the one on my last truck. The cover was nice and taut on the first roll-out; I expect it may stretch out some after a few days in a warm garage, and it might be necessary to adjust the tension. This looks easy enough with Lund’s adjusting screws. My only criticism (aside from the instruction sheet not covering every topic, especially with the foam weather strip) is that the latches don’t look as substantial as those on my old truck’s cover. We’ll have to see about that. I’m satisfied with the cover, especially at the price point. The Velcro seals it up, the foam should keep it reasonably weatherproof, and the cover looks like, well, every other cover on every other truck. I like a roll-up because I sometimes truck long two-by or PVC pipe and want the whole length of the box available. With a tri-fold, you have to take the cover all the way off for long loads.I’m going to guess that other brand tonneaus at about the same price point are going to be pretty similar to the Lund. I bought this one because of a good coupon offer, and because we used to own Lund boats and liked them. Reason enough.

Very Pleased with Lund
I am very pleased with the Lund truck bed cover for my Chevrolet Colorado. The cover was super easy to install, fits well, is sturdy and looks great. I have tried other covers and this one is by far the best value for the money! I had a problem with one of the tail hooks being a bit to hard to pull down to hook into the bed rail and Lund took care of it immediately following my call. Their customer service is friendly and helpful. I recommend Lund if you are in need of a cover for your truck.

Very nice 'topper'
The product itself seems to be a VERY NICE item. It fits my 2021 Canyon VERY WELL. I am not sure who is responsible for the shipping but think it came directly from the company itself......so I would say they did not do a very good job of 'packing/packaging'. The unit came in a cardboard box not especialy of thick material and there was no foam or anything keeping it from moving inside the flimsly box. In fact the box came rather tattered and torn. Miraculously the item was not damaged except for some minor gasket separation that I fixed myself. There is more to the 'story' about this but I will stick to just the product itself to write about. All in All the product seems VERY NICE and it fits VERY WELL and for the price I would say is a GOOD BUY. Yes, I recommend buying this for your truck.

Good weather protection, easy to use and install
First thing is the install. From opening the box till completion was about half an hour. Saw other reviews about can't figure out the clamps, or too hard to adjust or whatever other reason they have for being a failure.... All nonsense. Anyone with a basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge of how a socket works can install this with no issues at all. If you fall into the first category, then offer someone money to do it for you.The quality is on par with others I have seen and used. I wasn't sure about the elastic straps for tie backs, but they have grown on me. They work well enough to hold the rolled up cover in place when you need it out of the way. The latch has been fine so far. I'm sure that if you abuse it, or try to do some stupid thing you saw on the internet to modify it then it will break; but if you don't beat on it it should last for years. The tension adjusters are plastic, but again if you keep that in mind, and try to use an impact driver to adjust your cover they will be fine and get the job done.Weather resistance is the next up. I can't attest to snow load because I avoid places with snow at all costs. Heavy, downpour southern rainstorms though, luggage was perfectly dry in the bed of the truck. Enough said.

Nice Cover - Needs Extra Seal
Install was a breeze. The seal at the cab does not keep water out perfectly. I need to add additional sealing strip to prevent water from getting in. Overall, an attractive cover that can’t be cut through with a blade. The price is right too.

This cover is easy to install, but it’s not perfect.
Ease of installation is great. Speed of delivery was great. The warranty is great! But, it’s going to take a lot of fine tuning to get it to the point it could be deemed “water resistant”. The fact is, without a lot of waterproof foam stripping this cover will not stop the contents of the bed from getting wet. I’m working on a solution.

Easy install
The tonneau cover is the same brand that was on my Silverado for 12 years. Durable and easy to install and the matte finish looks good on the truck. Satisfied. Price was good also.

Looks great, but install was a lot of work.
My new GMC Canyon has a factory spray in bed liner as well as 1/4 inch thick bed rail caps. This meant I had to shorten the side rails by 1/8 inch in order to close the tailgate and required a 1/2 inch foam weather strip be applied at the cab end to make it seal. Also the 6 clamps wouldn’t go high enough, as the bolt would run into the box rail lip, and required grinding 6 notches into the bed rail lip. Other than that, and a bloody thumb when my socket wrench slipped off the bolt, I’m happy with the way it looks installed. I also applied Mink Oil weather sealant to all the stitching around the outside edges to increase the life span of the cover.

Good once installed
Hardest thing I have ever had to instal. So finicky and problematic. Once it’s ok it’s great but took my husband and I two hours and constant adjustment to get it to fit

Four Stars - One year update
Rails fit a little too tight . Had to make modifications to them. One year later - I've had to replace the rails once already as the velcro that is adhered to the rails was coming off. Replacement rails are now doing the same thing will need to be replaced again
