Good boot
It's a giod boot for ship life, honestly expected the lining to be better at keeping my feet warm but other then that they are good.

The best replacement for the Navy (NWU) Issue Boot available.
This is the Navy "Flight Boot" and is while more expensive than the normal issue(NWU) boot, is worth all the money and then some. I had repeated issues (pain, wear, leaking, etc) with the issued boots (also Belleville), until I finally gave up and bought a pair of these.Improvements:1) They are sized much more closely to my normal size. I wear a 10 running shoe, these are 9.5, which makes sense due to the insulation. I had to buy a 7.5W in the issued boot to get something that wouldn't slip and eat my heel, but due to the size it caused toe and foot pain.2) Much, much more waterproof than the issued boots. I've stood out in rainstorms in this for multiple hours supporting drydocking evolutions and my feet were still warm and dry at the end.3) The 200g insulation is about the right amount. My feet get a little warm with lots of sustained walking, but it more than makes up for it when you're standing around for long periods of time in the cold. (Something that the military is good at making you do.)4) Good build and lacing. The boot isn't particularly heavy, and with a combination ladder and infinity lacing, holds snugly. It does appear that the sole is slightly softer than the issue boot and therefore wears a little faster, but it also grips wet surfaces (like ships) much more firmly.5) Last and importantly: While the numbers and naval messages claim that this isn't a 9" boot, when measured side-by-side with the issued boots they are the exact same size. So, you can wear it with the NWU and be in complete compliance with the uniform regs.Summary: Best Navy boots I've owned, good replacement for the NWU issue boot. Go get a pair, you won't regret it.UPDATE 02MAR15: So, I've had these for a bit over 2 years now, though about 8 months of that was at a duty station where we didn't wear the NWU. As I expected, the sole is wearing a bit faster than the harder NWU issue boot, but there is still some tread left. The upper is still in good shape (except where I've damaged it), and the boot insulation and interior is holding up great. I'll probably buy a new pair over the summer, but these continue to be the best pair of Navy footwear I own. If you miss your old boonies, this is about as good as you're going to get.

Best Boots One Can Wish For!!
I have been wearing Belleville boots for years. The 880ST is similar to combat boots I wore in the US Marine Corps (also by Belleville), but with “upgrades” like steel toe and insulation. Depending on your specific application, you may or may not appreciate these features. In my case, I wear these boots for motorcycle riding and working at UPS. Steel toes give me a peace of mind while handling packages and riding at high speed. The insulated material actually works to keep my feet warm when temperature is low or riding in high wind. In addition, waterproof is another crucial feature as these boots kept my feet dry in the rain. It is difficult to ask for another pair that do the job this well. One accessory I would highly recommend is insoles or inserts that provide the proper arch support for your feet. Not that the original insoles are bad for everyone, but there are better, dedicated products out there.Overall, this pair of boots is highly functional and looks great on me. I received many compliments while wearing them. Just make sure you order the right size, which is one full size DOWN (order size 8 if you wear size 9 running shoes, maybe even wide size if needed).

Five stars
Over my career I've worn Rocky, Bates, Thorogood...and Danner. My first pair of Belleville. These boots actually exceed my expectations from the research I did...I am thoroughly impressed. I ordered my regular boot size and the fit is right on. I ordered the 880ST as they are all leather and insulated. The leather uppers are glove soft...they fit perfectly right out of box. Compared to my Danners...the Danner boots have stiff uppers that require breaking in and they run narrow, too tight in my regular size; these boots have supple uppers, like already broke in and are true to size...I don't want to take them off LOL! It is a rarity for something to exceed your expectations...these boots did just that. Highly recommend Belleville...made in USA and worth every penny!

Sturdy and comfortable
I was going to return them because I ordered a size 11 but size 10.5 was delivered instead. I tried them on after lacing the boots. Went for a walk around my neighborhood. They actually felt comfortable. Ended up walking 2 miles in them. Can't wait to put them thru the test of Alaska winter.

Will take a beating and last
The only boots i buy. As a truck driver I has put these boots thru a beating. From being in all types to condition such as job sites, landfills, chemical plants. etc, I consistently get at least 2 years out of a pair and they take abuse on the daily. Last 2 pairs I've only needed to replace them from wearing out the toe cap from kicking tires. Never have leaked, very slip resistant even on slick or oily surfaces. 10/10 have and will buy again
