Star Trek: The Art of John Eaves Hardcover – November 27, 2018

My favorite book of Star Trek artwork! Even as new generations of TV and feature filmmakers attempt to reinvent the Star Trek franchise look and feel, thank goodness they still recognized and retained John's vision, flexibility and creative genius. His infectious sense of humor and artistic mischief are abundundant in this 200+ page collection of anecdotes and artwork that span TOS, STNG, DS9, the Kelvin timeline, and now even ST Discovery! A must have for all of us trekkies.

John Eaves is one of the most influential Hollywood designers and illustrators of the past couple of decades, and this beautifully-made coffee-table book features some of his best work. Joe Nazzaro has done a great job of presenting John's life story, which is quite inspiring, illustrating each phase with samples of John's art and designs, from his teen years to his most recent concept illustrations for Star Trek: Discovery. If you're a follower of Hollywood movie and TV production design, you'll love this book. If you're a Star Trek fan, this book is an absolute must-have. The book itself is big and heavy and beautifully printed, and the reproductions of the concept sketches, diagrams and paintings are exquisite. It'll have a prominent place on my bookshelves alongside my other art books!

John Eaves is one of the few people who worked on the TOS movies, on various projects under the Berman era, the JJ Abrams movies and Discovery. Interesting look at the design process and artwork. The best part is when I was able to give an actual page number to some nerd who thought I was full of it when I said that the horrible design for the Discovery is partially based on the XB-70 bomber.

John Eaves has played a pivotal role in shaping Gene Roddenberry’s vision of Star Trek and has been responsible for creating many of the props and ships, from the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-E to the U.S.S. Discovery NCC-1031. This book represents the most-extensive collection of his designs and illustrations created for the Star Trek universe and features intriguing pencil sketches and exquisite concept art. The history of John Eaves, my favorite Star Trek artist. I learned much more from this book than I was expecting, I was thinking it was a simple collection of all his concept art, but there's a history of Star Trek productions since he began as well.

Great book but had to send back for a replacememt because some of the pages where upside down! Lol

The quality of the book is top notch. As a Star Trek fan, it is the best art book I have seen! The writing gives every picture a backstory and explores many unused concept art. Makes a fantastic gift for other fans, but be sure to get one yourself! Joe Nazzaro put excellent time and care into this book and it shows. Thank you John Eaves, I'm sure Tara is proud!

John Eaves has been conceptualizing what you see on the screen in Star Trek since Star Trek V. In this book you can see his vision of the future and how it shows up in an episode or movie. This book is full of photos and drawings and you will spend hours learning more about your favorite Star Trek ships and props.

After waiting a long time for this book I was glad to see all of John Eaves work all in one place.Would have been great to see more conceptual sketches that lead up to the final images. There is something about seeing the artists original sketches over being too photoshopped to create a final image - but its still a great book and recommend it to anyone.Unfortunately my book had some pages damaged during the printing and binding process but I still think its a great buy.To anyone who is a fan of Conceptual Art, John Eaves and Star Trek its a must buy!

This is a fairly large book, filled with a lot of good artwork and a fair amount of text covering movies, tv, the kelvin timeline and discovery.

The media could not be loaded.  A fantastic, new, large, hardback book collecting some of the amazing artwork produced by John Eaves during his illustrious career working in the Star Trek art department to produce concept designs for so many props, ships and sets from Deep Space Nine, Enterprise and some work on Voyager and The Next Generation.This book is collected and edited by Joe Nazzaro who also has a significant history in Star Trek publishing.John has also worked on the JJ Abrams Star Trek Kelvin-verse and most recently Discovery.I would have preferred to see more concept designs for props from Enterprise and Deep Space Nine but hopefully that will come in an separate volume.Please support John and buy a copy of this book, it may lead to more volumes with more of John's Star Trek concept art.
