Great fit
My son has a small waist. Most shorts either are long enough in the legs but too loose in the waist or fit in the waist and too short in the legs. These for perfect.

A little long, not stretchy
I wanted these specifically for the color. I have a tall child for his age and these still hang below the knee. Its fine, but I feel like above the knee gives more range of motion for an active/jumping in the pool kind of swimmer. Also, there is no stretch in the material. The waist has a little bit of stretch where there is elastic, but still not much.

Nice but returned
I got this in 14-16 for my whose current size is 12-14 my kid is on the very tall size for his age. It fits right but there wasn't much room to grow into. when he squats, his back is slightly more exposed than he is comfortable with. It looks very well made and with great fabric and color. I returned it because of fit and price. I got something similar for significantly much less at a local store. For those contemplating quality, go ahead and make the purchase.

perfect for teenagers!
My son is 16 years old and he wears men's Small for top but he has hard time finding bottoms because he's waist is 27". He can wear Men's 28" waist pants but that is a bit big and loose on him. He is 5'6" tall for your reference.So when he was looking for a new swim trunk this summer, rather than going with 28" or Men's size Small, we bought this Boy's size 14-16 and this fits him well! It's actually still a bit loose on him but that's okay since the trunk has elastic waist as well as drawstring with double loop holes to securely tighten on his waist.He loves it because:✔️ It fits his 27" waist well and comfortably✔️ It has mesh lining for additional comfort✔️ It's not too short and comes down to just above his knees✔️ Awesome design and patterns✔️ Elastic waist and drawstring for flexible fitting✔️ UPF 50+, lightweight, quick drying, and a side pocket is a nice to have.BOTTOM LINE:5 out of 5 stars. Lo compre para mi hijo, le gusta mucho, esta muy cómodo, tiene un buen largo y ajuste en la cintura, las bolsas hacen muy feliz a mi niño porque ahi guarda sus tonterías para la alberca.
