Greatest Thing Since Sliced Bread!!!
I use this for growing hydroponically. It extremely easy to calibrate using the supplied 7.01 solution. You don't really need to use 4.01 solution (not supplied). It has a flashing light to warn you if your pH goes higher or lower than what you set it. This is SO much easier and accurate than a hand held meter. The price is right. I had been looking for a pH monitor with a submersible probe but the prices were out of my budget. This monitor is worth twice the price. Milwaukee also has a great customer support team you can contact through email. I give it a BEST BUY. You can't go wrong with this product. Highly recommended!!!

Possible a returned model
The pakage came in a box that had been clearly opened. I decided to try it and it worked so im happy it was supposed to be beige but in fact came in black like the mc 122 i didnt care and its actually better because it matches the other meters i have. All and all im happy and it should work for me.

Reef aquarium? Must have!
I can finally actually tell what my reef aquarium's ph is. Test strips are useless for this; I have never had any success at all with test strips.I let this run for a month, meaning power on, probe in the aquarium. Then I re-calibrated it at ph 7 and ph 10; it was within 1/10th of where it should have been at both points on the scale. Nice.Has its own power supply, a nice long cord on the probe, an large, easily read display, and an alarm - a blinking red LED and a beeper - that goes off if the ph gets too high. It's easily mounted on the wall, too. Very, very well thought out.Highly recommended.EDIT: I've not had this running for several months. Still solidly in calibration -- took it out, tested it, didn't have to touch an adjustment, it was still spot-on. So I bought a second one for my non-reef salt tank. Opened it, calibrated it (it was very close right out of the box) and sunk it in there. All good. Also -- my reef tank is *thriving* now. Once I knew what the ph was, I was able to stabilize the ph where my tank denizens were happy, and several things happened: First, and quite notably, my hair algae problem simply went away over the course of a few weeks. I'd tried everything else you can imagine; getting the ph right was all it took in the end. Second, my tank creatures are all thriving.I aim at about 8.3 to 8.4 for my reef tank. The soft corals seem to be annoyed by about 8.2 on the low side, and 8.5 on the high side. The ph consistently tends to rise, so as soon as the meter shows 8.5, I knock it back to 8.3, and everything stays happy all the time. Takes about 3-4 days for the ph to reach 8.5 again. The little blinky "alarm" light makes sure I see that the tank needs attention very quickly, as I'm always walking past the tanks. In my reef tank, I keep fish, sponges, soft corals and mushrooms, tube worms, small clams, shrimp, crabs, limpets, and snails along with a large quantity of live rock.Totally, totally a must-have. Seriously -- test strips are WORTHLESS compared to this.

Got it right with 2nd one
The first one I received wouldn’t turn on. I got with the seller and they ship me one out ASAP. The second one works perfectly. I do not have to constantly test with the Hana pH test kit. It’s amazing just to be able to look and see what the pH is at and make adjustments as needed I can run my reef tank at 8.3 all day long now it’s amazing. I’m using a kalkwasser container and a dosing pump, it didn’t take long to see great results being consistent.

Easy to use and calibrate and the directions were easy to read
I bought this product for my new aquarium. I am using plants, potting soil, and sand substrate and wanted to make sure my PH level was correct. Although this is a continuous monitor, I use it every couple of days while I am setting up my tank.

plenty of problems unless you have a solid/consisent tool like SMS120.
There is HUGE difference btwn MC120 and SMS120. MC120 is a junk & SMS120 is very good/solid equipment.pH measuring isn't that straightforward, plenty of problems unless you have a solid/consisent tool like SMS120.
