I've been using these for years. I replace them around once per year. They do wonders at keeping the birds' claws trimmed down and dull. They really work well! These do not get "cold-feeling" in the winter like the nasty cement ones do. Each has multiple shapes/contours, such that the feet of the parrots can change from just one shape/size. I use the XL-size for my Scarlet Macaw and I also use the XL-size for my Yellow Nape Amazon. I find that the XL-size, when used even for the Yellow Nape, works best for keeping the claws dull. With smaller sizes, the claws do not touch the gritty surface as frequently. I keep a couple of smaller-diameter wooden perches -- at lower levels -- in case the parrot wishes to really (temporarily) change grip diameters. The XL-size is 14 and 1/2 inches long from the cage to the opposite end.If your bird does not like these -- which often happens with "new" perches -- just leave it in the cage for a least a week or two (and make sure that it is the highest perch). They end up loving it!I highly recommend these! I've kept (and bred) parrots for years.

Will make your birds feet raw and they will bleed.Wish I never bought this!!!!!I feel so guilty for putting it in their cage.These shoud be illegal.

My bird and I love this product. My bird like the sturdy pace to rest and I like the way it keeps his nails! I have a very active Blue and Gold Macaw.. We use the largest size. Good product and recommend.

If you want your parrot to have nails that will not scratch you and have their beak in good shape - these are the correct perches to get. I have tried all types and these are what you want!
