Great saw!
Wife got it for me for Christmas. I had been wanting it for a while; needless to say I was out cutting saplings still in my pajamas on Christmas morning lol. It IS the American version Zubat Pro as pictured (thicker blade and red screws) and NOT the Japanese version that someone received and reviewed a few years ago. This thing is sharp! It made short work of sweet gum and pine saplings (2-3") in my backyard. They were down in 2 pulls. The same diameter limbs were down in one pull. For sh!t's and giggles, I dropped a 7" sweet gum as well. It did the job. Once I master the "pull only" technique of Japanese saws, I'm sure I'll be more efficient with it. Scabbard is very nice and you can tell it is a quality saw. The hype around these saws is well deserved!

Great saw with a learning curve.
Great saw with a learning curve. Don't get in a hurry until you figure out how to use it. This cuts larger diameter wood like a champ and the curved handle is comfortable and requires less effort than straight handle designs. You can really tell the difference between the curved handle and straight designs. The scabbard type sheath works well and holds saw securely. Rides well on the outside of my backpack and has slots in the sheath to attach to molle webbing or your leg. Also has belt loop and quick disconnect buckle. I use this for cold weather camping firewood cutting and my Pocket Boy 170 for warmer weather when I don't need as much or as big of pieces of wood. Silky makes the best saws on the market. You have to keep in mind it only cuts on the pull stroke and if you push forward and down on it to hard you will snap the blade. Go slow and practice before you start going crazy with it and it will last you for years.

An excellent saw; SO worth the money
Gotta say, it's an excellent pruning saw.Bought this after borrowing one from a friend who is an arborist. He's had his for six years and uses it year-round, at work, cutting tree limbs 6-10 hours per day. So I was already impressed with the durability.Getting a new one, freshly sharp, however, really opened my eyes. It cuts remarkably well. A single 'forward-back-forward' will get you through a 1-inch limb or sapling with ease. I've used it on limbs up to 4 inches in diameter and barely noticed. Haven't noticed any decline in sharpness after two seasons of regular use.I cut and maintain a lot of trails in wooded parts of the "Wisconsin Driftless." This saw and a good machete are the only two tools I need to clear a rough path through just about any undergrowth or older forest. Ergonomics are very good; sheath is durable and offers lots of attachment options. I haven't had any complaints with this saw after two years of use. Definitely worth paying the extra money. If you want a lightweight, durable, accessible pruning saw on your hip, this is surely the one for you.

This thing cuts!
I've spent entire days in the woods trimming dead (and sometimes green) limbs off of fir and hemlock trees in western Oregon. What can I say? It goes right thru the limbs and I quickly adapted to the design of cutting on the pull stroke. It stays sharp: I bought it five years ago and then purchased a replacement blade one year ago. I also sometimes cut downed trees up to nine inches thick and it's all I need. One time I was careless and hurrying and drew a stroke over my leg. That left a nasty gash that took a while to heal up, so use carefully.

Best saw ever
I’m a carpenter and use a lot of different hand saws. I know this is not for carpentry but it is hands down the best saw for cutting limbs or even small trees. I have owned it for about 4 years have never sharped it and it still cuts like it’s brand new.

Very happy
I have been using this saw for trail work and even pack it in my camelbak when I am mountain biking and hiking. It is lightweight and has a great handle. The cuts are precise and fast!

Arborist approved
Arborist told me that he got one for himself and joked that he shouldn't be giving away these trade secrets away. Works great.
