Stuff seems to help
I was at my wits end with my 14 yr. old husky. Everytime I took her in this yr., it was $$ and no relief. New antibiotics, and same RX creme. Kept treating it as hot spots. I thought I'd give this a try. Less hot spots but now a new spotted spot on her chest!! I can't win. Really believe this helped as she had about 10 spots all over. I know her days are limited so I want them to be good ones and not in pain. Definitely worth a shot

My Siberian needed more Zinc
I really believe this stuff works for my Siberian Husky. I did quite a lot of research before buying. Zinpro is not cheap but since this is the brand of zinc multiple people recommended (on a forum for Siberian Husky's) It was enough for me to order. Now I'm on my second bag. My Husky had all the signs of a zinc deficiency. My vet had no clue. I had to do the research myself and read about what other pet owners had learned with trial and error. I have been using for a bit more than a month now. The last couple weeks I noticed a real difference in the red patches near his muzzle. The red inflamed skin around his mouth started to look less red and more pink. He is looking a little better with every passing day. The muzzle inflammation you could see through the white and grey hair has almost completely gone away. My doggies overall coat is shinier and he is scratching a lot less. I never would of bought this if it wasn't for the Snowdog Guru who has a whole blog on Siberian Husky's and their common health issues. If your dog is scratching, has red and pink patches on his face near mouth, eyes and muzzle then likely you have a zinc deficiency. I'm pretty convinced Zinpro is what my doggie needed to be healthier. I'll continue to recommend this stuff as long as I see the improvements and for now I couldn't be happier with this product. I'm using one big spoon full in the morning and two big spoon fulls for dinner.

The volume required to administer the amount of zinc my dog needs makes his food unpalatable. Also, administering with food can hinder absorption. I ended up moving to tablets. He loves them in raw hamburger balls and I don't have to shove them down his throat!

It works wonderfully!
This supplement is actually healing what even my vet did not diagnose. Both dogs show great improvement - the Husky with skin problems more so than the American Eskimo with dried, cracked nose and paws, but even he is showing improvement. It is easy to adminster, and the dogs seem to love it. I will recommend this product to my neighbor, whose Husky is beginning to show the same problem. I will also inform my vet's office of what product is working on their "zinc deficiency" symptoms. The vet had told me the Husky had a stubborn bacterial infection, and the Eskimo's dry nose was very common at his age (he is 14 now), he was 11 at that time. Been a long time coming, but we are finally there. I actually found pictures of the same symptoms in my sister's Alpaca field Manual, with the correct diagnosis listed. Otherwise, we'd still be guessing. The only problem I've had with the Zinpro was the written directions that called for a tablespoon per 20 lbs. No other measurement was listed. However, a spoon came inside the bag of the product, and it holds between a quarter & half teaspoon. We've been using one of these spoonsful per 20 lbs, with success.

Thank God for this product!!
I tried everything for my dog and his skin just got worse. The vet kept saying "allergies ... allergies ... fungal infection ..." and my 13 year old hound dog took antibiotics and predisone along with anti-bacterial/fungal shampoos 3X a week that dried and irritated his skin. His coat color was getting dim and his hair was continuing to thin. He looked terrible. Then a lady in line at petco told me that had happened to her dog and a nutritionist told her to try zinc - it worked!! So I thought, after $1000 + dollars at the vet, why not ... she was right - it worked!! This product is amazing ... after 1 week I noticed a difference ... after a month, he looks absolutely beautiful. He still has a little way to go, but I'm sure he will get there. If this works on your dog, the company told me that you will have to use it for the rest of their life because it means that they can not absorb zinc in other forms. When I called, they answered immediately, were very ... very helpful. Great product, great customer service ... Thank God!

Helped my dog's nose problem
My dog has various allergies (on dog allergy medicine) and 1/2 of her nose has been dry, crusty and swollen for a long time. One of her vets recommended mineral oil for the nose but it didn't really help. Another vet stated it could be a zinc deficiency and recommended Zinpro tablets but as they had beef flavoring (beef is one of the items my dog is allergic to) we couldn't use that. Came across the Zinpro Beryle powder and decided to give it a try (sprinkled ~3/4 tablespoon on her breakfast as she weighs less than the weight listed in the instructions). It has really helped the nose situation. Have been using it for about 2 months and although her nose is not completely back to what it should be (is ~90% there) the swelling is gone and her nose is no longer crusty (only took about a week to start seeing improvement). On top of that, her coat has become softer. I would recommend this to others in a similar situation ... particularly for dogs with food allergies.

My Siberian Husky gives this a low rating for taste - won't even touch his kibble with it on top. Otherwise the product seems great but if the pooch won't eat it then the zinc can't help him.

It works well for my malamute but didn't work as well for my doberman. For some reason the doberman kept getting stomachaches from it when I tried to titer up the amount to what was suggested.
