Just as promised this book is brand new condition It was packaged very carefully and arrived as promised I would not hesitate to order again from the shipper I am extremely pleased

This is the second volume or first to Ms. Merrils first boot on Spiral quilts....in here she gives more information about drafting your own blocks and designing your own quilts.....decisions about design, fabric choice and block placement....and as always there is a CD where you print some of the blocks she GIVES you to create your own quilt.....You will have to study this book a while because this is MORE ADVANCED than normal PAPER PIECING....you have to know the differences in spirals such as nesting, or pinwheel....baravelle...or point to point but she goes further than her first book....she gets into details about symmetry, flow, centers and increments of the spiral blocks and placement and mirror placement for the creation and design of each quilt...there is so much here I will be studying this for a year before I embark on making one of these....I will have to go Back to book one and practice a little more and read this book and finally I will be ready.......MUCH MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE here.....but WOW look at the results.....

Magnificent Spiral Mandala Quilts is packed full of great inspirational ideas for playing with color. Some of the designs are definitely breathtaking in colors as well as complexity of design making this book one for the advanced quitler. The technique used is paper piecing which should be easy. However, you are dealing with small fabric pieces and many color runs of the same color family -- running from the very lightest to the very darkest -- which could be confusing. The designs are made of multiple pie like wedges that are pieced to form a circular design. Each wedge may have several sections contained within it. The book is very similar in technique the author taught in her other book Simply Amazing Spiral quilts. A CD accompanies Magnificent Sprial Mandalas for printing the foundation pieces to use in paper piecing. These designs would function better as wall hangings or pillows not for use on a bed where the push and pull might cause tears in the seams.

I bought RaNae Merrill's first spiral quilts book and loved it, but I wanted to connect the spirals and come up with more of a mandala style. I discovered these quilts on a web site called The Spiromandalas Blog and I knew I had to look further. Check out the web site, and if these quilts appeal to you in the slightest, the book will be invaluable. The ideas here are wonderful and instructions on how to get there are clear and detailed. I was keen to design my own but there are so many ideas here I can start anywhere and adapt in so many directions to create a unique quilt. This is for the advanced quilter who prefers to develop a quilt that is unique. You will no doubt have people wondering "How did she do that?"

This will be a challenge ,just what I need. I'm looking to making my own Mandala fo a round table whether I succeed or not is to be found later.I can't wait to get started. When my present UFO is finished then this will be the next to be started. I.m quite excited by this.

What a wonderful detailed book of delicious new and innovative quilt designs. Have avoided circular quilts for such a long time but now am busy drawing up designs as per her instructions and ready to get started feeling a whole lot more confident that I can do it.. The DVD included is such a bonus.

Interesting, but very small pieces, so would be very time consuming.

i find this book truly facinating and absolutely amazing it needs to be studied quite a lot to get the idea of how things work to achieve the pattern of the quilt but such things of beauty as these quilts are gives you such a feeling of achievment and i never get tired of looking at them glad i obtained the book and i am doing one for my daughter in the usa when i get over there glen pugh

Super erklärendes Buch. Kann ich nur empfehlen. Man muss auch nicht unbedingt englisch können um die Anleitungen zu verstehen, erklärt sich auch mit den Bildern.

Very complicated but has beautiful pictures. I haven't attempted anything from this book yet
