Heavy duty gloves that need a lot of breaking in
The gloves are very well built. Maybe over built a bit. They took a couple weeks of workouts and a couple washings to start getting broken in. Still need a bit of break-in to go yet. They are thicker in the palms than I'd like and you lose some feel. But they're built like a tank and should last a long time. Also, one strange thing about mine. On one wrist (left glove) it says "Black Label" as shown in the pictures. On the right wrist it says "Pink Label" which is the model of the women's version. They are both a matched pair of men's gloves and I'm not sure if this is a manufacturing error or just the way they come. They only show the left glove in the pictures. I don't really care- it doesn't bother me. It just seems strange if it wasn't a manufacturing error. Some guys might have a problem with it.

Good Lifting Gloves with a Thoughtful Desgin
Contraband Black Label 5120 Pro Series Weight Lifting Gloves (PAIR) (White, Large) As my handle suggests, I'm an older guy. I consider myself a regular, but non-competitive weight lifter. I'm also a PhD, and search the scientific literature when trying to get the most bang for my time at the gym. I also tend to hang on to items I like, so I had already sewn the seams on my old gloves a few times when I decided it was time to replace them. I settled on the Contraband Black Label, based on reviews and what sounded like a thoughtful design feature.Although I had been using a competitor's medium workout gloves, I measured my hands as instructed, and found that extra-large gloves were recommended. Given my old medium gloves, as well as the large leather gloves I wear outdoors during the winter, I decided to order large rather than extra-large Contraband gloves. The gloves arrived on time in a small plastic bag inside a padded, shipping envelope. The gloves looked fine when I inspected them for loose seams or obviously flimsy construction. They looked fine. The gloves struck me as a bit stiff when I initially flexed my hands, but they quickly became flexible as I worked out. I assume that workout gloves should be snug so as not to slide about on one's hands while grasping heavy objects. These remain comfortably snug thus far.The tabs at the wrist and fingers really do help in getting the gloves on (wrist tabs) and off (finger tabs), a nice feature that reflects some thought in designing the product. The gloves look like, well, like workout gloves. I didn't buy them to wear to the theatre. Seams are sewn smooth and appear secure. The padding has thus far protected against developing callouses. I have previously developed painful callouses when lifting without gloves. The gloves are mostly black, with contrasting white labeling. While I could do without the white contrast, others may like the white (or red) contrast. Different strokes, etc.I have been pleased with the gloves during my first week of wearing them during workouts. I will report back with updates from time to time.

Well built and great price!
Whoever designed these gloves has to be a weight lifter themselves.

Tough gloves, low price
My first impression when I wore these gloves was "they're too thick and hot". Compared to the worn pair of lightweight gloves they replaced, they were quite stiff. But after a few days, I came to appreciate their heavy-duty nature and the added padding and protection they afford my hands. I expect these to last a good long while.Pros: The mesh material is thick enough to cushion your hands from errant bumps and scrapes. The finger and palm pads are tough enough to protect from blistering and abrasion. The little tabs at the wrist and fingers help in pulling the gloves on and off.Cons: The thickness of the material makes them a little slow to dry out so they tend to smell "sour" even after washing with soap. The thickness of the palm pads makes gripping a little harder but not too bad. The hook and loop fastener on the wrist is a bit stiff so it tends to crease when wringing the gloves dry.Overall, a very good value for the money.

They fit BIG HANDS
I have trouble finding 3xl workout gloves. These 2 xl fits like a 3xl and are very well made....probably last years. 50lbs dumbbell here I come...

Great gloves for a great price.
I did a lot of research on what gloves I wanted to buy to replace my worn out lifting gloves. I decided to give the Contraband Black Label 5120 Pro Series Lifting Gloves (Red, XX-Large) a try based on the other reviews, price and looks. I like the finger tabs to help remove the gloves after lifting. I especially like the fact that my hands are not black from the glove dye which is what used to happen with my other gloves. These gloves do not have as much padding as some other gloves but I like the more secure feel of the weight bars and handles without the excessive padding. The material for the grips on the palms and fingers seems to grip onto the bars and handles that I use quite well. It appears to be a very durable material. I appreciate that I was able to get the XXL size and they were true to size. I struggle to find gloves to fit my hands. Overall, I am very satisfied and would be happy to recommend these gloves to a friend, family member or anyone who is looking for a great lifting glove.
