Aidapt 35 Inch Handy Reacher Grabber, Gripper Aid for Picking Up Small Items and Litter

I had a cheaper foldable reacher/grabber that had round rubber ends and while it was ok for picking up light things it was useless for doing other jobs such as gripping a cloth/sponge so I could clean along the skirtings, nooks & crannies etc. This was mostly because of the flimsiness of the grabber and because it was weak at the folding point and would wobble about. This reacher doesn't fold and is better for it, stronger, and I prefer the handle to the "locking" one I had before which also kept sticking. I wanted the reacher not just for picking light things up but for being able to comfortably do jobs that require me to bend as I have RA and a bad back and find it a struggle.Good speedy delivery too.

While waiting for a couple of years for back surgery and being unable to bend, this has been a life saver! I ended up buying three and having one in each room as I found it necessary to use this to pick up things from the floor. This particular reacher is a good length as it means that you do not have to bend at all to pick things off the floor. It is true that you cannot pick up heavy items from the floor but for light everyday items which I have found is most things, it does the job. I regularly pick up; shampoo bottles, hair bobbles, lids, pieces of paper, socks etc. Also I have found that the end has a magnetic part which means that hair slides/bobby pins stick to the end of this reacher which means that I can pick them off the floor which I have found very useful.

Ideal for lifting light items; paper, pen, socks. Haven’t yet used for larger items but magnet end would be useful. Not a sturdy feel but is very light and easy to handle and will prevent a lot of bending down for certain things.

This is a handy tool for picking up small lightweight objects. I have used it to retrieve a tissue box and a few other small things I dropped. It took a lot of manoeuvering to pick up a pillow that I dropped off the other side of the bed. The tool seemed unable to handle the weight of a normal plump fibrefill pillow in a pillowcase. Grabbing the pillowcase caused it almost to bend with the weight. So, I would really like to have a stronger tool. I am disappointed that for something which looks so useful, it can handle so little weight For things that you can get a good grip on the middle of, maybe great. It takes a bit of skill to make it work and one has to find the right angle for grabbing things. But the little hook at the end is a definite help in some cases. Often you can just drag the item of choice to a closer place and then pick it up by hand. That's something it's good for.

Arrived bent like a longbow, was going to send it back but managed to straiten it out, and it seems to work ok.

for someone who was dancing 4-5 nights a week but had an occasional sore back that drugs could have controlled, but was sweet-talked into a needless operation by a money hungry, con-man, greedy pig of a man, best described as a BUTCHER. i now can't dance and need gallons of drugs but still have huge problems, so have come to relying on these items to stop hyper extending when picking things up from the floor. i have 3: one upstairs, one down stairs, and this for my workshop. i can say that this is the best. it is very similar to one of the others but this has nice touches such as a magnet and a hook to hang the item. it's a 5 star all the way, and can't understand why anyone would want to rate it lower, but that is their prerogative.

as a person with spinal problems 3 lots of major surgery .i find this item invaluable .i bought the fist on from aldi for 3 pounds and used it until it broke .so i needed to buy a new one ASAP i ordered the same one as it has a magnet on it handy for picking up nail scissors and other small metal things .it has a very well designed pick up jaw that will pick up most things ..i would pay more for a higher quality version .but at just over 5 pounds its worth every pound a must for anyone with back problems

Pleased with this item. Easy to operate, I purchased to reach places such as items under the bed or up high as I am not the tallest person and people keep moving my steps. The kids have fun playing with it too and seem to have lost it so need to buy another.Just a follow-up - after some use something in the tube must have broken as the grabbing mechanism no longer works. Still they are good when working.
