MantisTiller Kick Stand 4333-00-02

I will add a bottom cross piece to help make this stand work better to start my Mantis Tiller.

Because the Mantis tiller doesn't come with wheels or any other way to stand it up, the kickstand is an essential accessory for the Mantis tiller. I bought the kickstand primarily for storage (to be able to stand it up in the garage) and to make it easy to fill the tank with gas, but it turned out to be even more useful while I was tilling.I needed to use my tiller in rocky soil, and had to stop tilling every minute or so to pull out rocks. I got tired of putting the kickstand up and down, and ended up just leaving it down, tilling and resting it on the stand as necessary. It would have taken a lot more time if I had to prop it up on something every time I stopped.The kickstand itself is well designed and fits the Mantis frame perfectly. The only improvement I would make is to add the capability to lock it in place for storage. It is held in position by a spring, and if you put any additional weight on it, it will collapse. So if you set something on it while it's in storage, the kickstand will give out and the tiller will fall.The kickstand is expensive, and it's a shame that it isn't already packaged with the tiller. Nevertheless, based on its utility, to me there's no question that it's worth the price.

I like it as it does what is expected

I purchased this unit after having a knee replacement because I could handle if for the weight and said was easy to use. I have a small garden aprrox 25 X40 and it took approximately 2 1/2 hours to do the whole thing and that was learning some "tricks of use" The only thing I noted was that vine and roots do get tangled a lot but that can happen even with the "big boys". I didn't see the weed spools and looking at the comments probably would have bought them to. I have found units similar and cheaper but this does say it has a 5 year warranty and we know how those can go but it states that. I am very happy so far and hope it doesn't let me down. I would highly recommend this unit for limited use and for people who might have issues with handling the large tiller. Might add that my wife did use it to, with little problem.

Great value no longer have to lean the tiller against something

Prior to getting this kick stand I found myself having to either lay down the Mantis or stand it up against something to clean the tines, fill it with fuel or even start it. Being less than a foot wide it naturally wants to fall over so this kickstand solved all those problems. Not only is it heavy duty and does a great job holding the tiller upright, it also adds extra reinforcement to the long handles as the tiller blades generate a lot of torque at times. Overall great product.

I tried to run the tiller through straw. We had a fresh load of manure from the goats. The tiller was stopped dead in its tracks. I guess we'll have to use the tractor to till the straw into the garden. We have a 1/4 acre vegetable garden. We tried it in well-composted horse manure and it did better though the motor seems under-powered. I think we'll wind up using this to remove weeds between rows during the critical early growing seasons when the weeds try to take over.

Had my tiller for years and years, broke down and got the kick stand wish I did it years ago
