First off, about the 18 rating - If that's putting you off buying it for your children or some such thing, be advised, it is only rated 18 because of the very first episode, which features (brief) frontal nudity. All the other episodes are rated 15 or below. Seems a bit daft to me rating the whole box set at 18 because of it, but I suppose it's necessary.There isn't much point talking about the series itself, since I'd imagine most people who are interested in this have seen a good part of it already. So I'll move straight onto the box set. The DVD cases themselves are nice. Well sized and pretty well designed to let you get to all the DVDs - And believe me there are a lot of them. 61 individual disks to be exact, with somewhere in the region of 9,000 minutes total running time. Which gives you truly incredible value for money - about 2p per second of video, compared to around 12p per second for a normal DVD film. That's value you really can't argue with.The box that contains the DVDs is indeed slightly disappointing - Instead of some nice art like they have on the Atlantis boxset, it's covered in rather distasteful fonts telling you what you've bought. Which seems a bit unnecessary since you already know that. But you don't have to see the box too much so it isn't a problem.My main gripe would be with the adverts they introduce on the later DVDs. Not only flogging Atlantis to you, which is reasonable enough I suppose...but advertising the SG-1 box set. Yep, the one you've already spent £100 on. I understand they've done it to keep costs down so they don't have to reprint the DVDs, but it's still rather irritating.But all the flaws pale in comparison to the series. You get a truly enormous amount of entertainment, at a great price. It's a must-have for any fans of the series.

Firstly, an amazing tv show and if you are a fan, definitely worth the purchase. This box set is cheaper than buying them separately by quite a lot!To all you who are wondering, yes there are subtitles, but unfortunately it does not exist in Season 1. Hope that bit of information saves you the hassle of cycling through all the options if you end up buying this.Season two has 2 episodes which are from season 1. They are duplicated for unknown reasons, and are out of order. But I think they did this just to fill some space on the dvd as there are no special features until season 3.The case is functional, although some would prefer a nicer collectors case, I'm quite proud of it as it is anyway. Still looks awesome to me.Season 1 has 5 discs, every season after has 6 discs. All discs are securely fastened inside a plastic case per season. No paper sleeves or anything like that here.Comes with the 2 movies, ARK of Truth and Continuum which were made to tie up loose ends after the series came to a close.Runtime 9035 minutes or 150.5 hours approx, that's 12 and a half days of solid viewing with no rest, eating, or using the toilet of any kind. This isn't including the Original Stargate film of 2 hrs 15 mins either..(sold separately - Look out for the Ultimate edition on Blu-ray!.214 episodes + 2 films.Watch at your own risk!

Stargate or Star Trek? For a number of years these two franchises went head to head for the fan base and you know what? I loved them both. Sure there were episodes that were derivative; of classic sci-fi (novels and film), of politics (beauty of sci-fi) and/or each other, but who cares? The effects became progressively more ambitious and more realistic (like I know what a space battle would look like!) and the acting was always top notch - how patronising does that sound? Just, taken as a whole body of work; these series are a masterclass in story-telling, characters, costumes, effects; the whole package. Plus there is always something for everyone; I know my favourite episodes are not the same as my friends', and I know that those few episodes that I don't like are some of my friends' favourites. All in all, I would heartily recommend this box set for any true Stargate fan. If you are not sure about Stargate; a)this is a great opportunity to become a Stargate fan, b)do not equate any cross-over roles with any admission of superiority in either direction and c)Theme Tune!!PS Have to say this; there seems to have been a bit of a backlash when RDA left, but having watched back to back series over many consecutive nights, the introduction of Lt Col Cam Mitchell was a much needed boost.Have fun!

Sjukt bra serie! Fint förpackad, given plats i film-hyllan. Ska man hitta på något negativt är det väl att alla säsonger inte har svensk text, men för egen del funkar det utan för det mesta.

Ich habe mir diese Box gekauft, nachdem ich vor ein paar Wochen im TV bei der Serie hängen geblieben bin. Zwar habe ich schon früher immer mal reingeschaut, aber da konnte ich nicht dranbleiben sie regelmässig zu schauen.Nun schaue ich sie also mit dieser Box zum allerersten Mal komplett.Zur Box an sich:SO mag ich Serienboxen. Eigene Schuber für jede Staffel, und die DVDs sind NICHT gestapelt, sondern je zwei auf einer Seite, und in der Mitte dann einzelne DVDs. So zerkratzen sie nicht wie bei diesen komischen Boxen, wo alle übereinander gestapelt sind.Eine ansehnliche Box für Sammler wie mich, die aber gerne ihre Errungenschaften auch noch mehrfach anschauen wollen. Klar gibt es schönere Sammlerboxen, gerade von dieser Serie, aber mir ist wichtiger, was auf den Scheiben drauf ist, als was man im Regal sieht.Die Box macht einen stabilen Eindruck.Ich bin zwar noch nicht ganz durch, aber ein Fehler ist mir aufgefallen. Bei Staffel 2 auf der letzten DVD sind zwei Episoden zusätzlich im Menü enthalten, die eigentlich auf eine der anderen DVDs gehören, und die man da auch findet. Warum die noch mal auf die letzte DVD gepackt wurden erschließt sich mir nicht. Angeklickt habe ich sie nicht, also weiß ich nicht ob da nur der Titel aus Versehen ins Menü gepackt wurde oder tatsächlich noch mal die Episoden. Aber nicht schlimm, einfach ignorieren.Die Beschreibung auf der Hülle zu Staffel 1 könnte lesbarer sein. Die Schrift ist einfach unglücklich gewählt und zu klein. Ab Staffel 2 wurde das perfekt gelöst, so kann man auch immer schauen welche Episode als Nächstes kommt.Was mich aber IMMER bei Serien nervt: Warum kann man die Episoden im Menü nicht einfach untereinander aufbauen, so dass man weiß welche als Nächstes kommt? Nein, die müssen in jede Ecke gepackt werden, und so muss man jedes Mal auf der Box nachschauen wo es weiter geht. Ich glaube bei Staffel 2 waren die Episoden untereinander angeordnet, aber dann wieder nicht. Aber gut, das schwächt nicht das Vergnügen die Serie anzuschauen.Die Qualität ist erstaunlich gut, dafür dass es keine Bluray ist.Zur Serie selbst muss ich wohl eigentlich nichts mehr schreiben. Mache ich aber doch :DIch habe schon mehrfach gehört, dass man sie entweder liebt oder ignorniert. Zu meiner Schande muss ich gestehen dass ich sie jahrelang ignoriert habe. Das ist allerdings auch meinen Arbeitszeiten mit Schicht geschuldet, so dass ich an keiner Serie dranbleiben konnte und irgendwann aufgehört habe es zu versuchen. Den Film fand ich damals schon klasse, auch wenn dort andere Schauspieler mitspielen. Die Serie brauchte dann bei mir mehrere Anläufe.Was ich tatsächlich besonders mag: Ich bin nun bei Staffel 4 mittlerweile, und es gibt keine verwirrenden Handlungsstränge, die man sich merken muss. Es sind weiterhin quasi Einzelepisoden, mal Doppelepisoden, und ich GENIESSE das. Man muss sich eigentlich fast nichts merken, man kann überall einsteigen wo man möchte, man kann seine Lieblingsepisoden einfach schauen wann immer man will, ohne 5 Episoden vorher anzufangen. Mag sein dass Viele das anders sehen, aber mir gefällt das. Ich meine gelesen zu haben dass sich dies noch irgendwann später in der Serie ändert, aber so weit bin ich wohl noch nicht. Klar werden Dinge mal wieder erwähnt, und die ganzen Episoden bauen aufeinander auf. Aber dennoch sind es Einzelepisoden, die man schauen kann wie man will.Was mir nicht ganz so gut gefällt: Es werden viele Dinge einfach nie wieder erwähnt. Wo ich mir wünschte sie würden fortgeführt in einer extra Episode. Aber gut, das ist tatsächlich Klagen auf hohem Niveau, denn ansonsten gefällt mir die Serie bisher (wie gesagt bin bei Staffel 4 zur Zeit) top.Richard Dean Anderson macht einen besseren O'Neill als Kurt Russell (sorry ;) ). Ich mag die flapsige Art, wie er den Charakter spielt, denke auch er bringt sich da gut selbst mit ein.Auch Michael Shanks als Daniel Jackson gefällt mir besser als der Schauspieler aus dem Kinofilm.Und natürlich bringen die anderen Schauspieler wie Amanda Tapping, Teryl Rothery und der Rest auch die Serie in Schwung. Sie passen wunderbar dort rein und sind alle eine tolle Wahl.Fazit: Empfehlung.

è arrivato in condizioni perfette. Ancora sono alla prima stagione percio non so come sono gli altri ma fino adesso nessun problema. Le lingue sono un po strane. Non tutte gli episodi hanno le stesse lingue ma di base tutte hanno inglese e tedesco. Sono molto ma molto contenta.

Se são fãs de SG-1 esta é uma coleção a não perder.Chegou tudo OK, mas a Amazon tem de melhorar o acondicionamento dos produtos. A box vem solta na embalagem, o que causou danos num dos cantos.

Having all 10 seasons of STARGÅTE SG-1 is a real treat. I can now binge to my hearts content and enjoy the adventure and humor of Colonel Jack O'Neill, Major Sam Carter, Dr. Daniel Jackson, Teal'c as well as Brigadier General George Hammond, Sgt. Walter Harriman and the rest of the SG command personnel and various visitors and enemies. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that not only are all the episodes wide screen but it contains the ORIGINAL version of "Children of the Gods", the pilot episode from its Showtime premiere. The smaller packaging takes up about the same space as my lonely season 1 in it 4 or five packages! Most excellent!
