Thank you for your question. I understand how the dosage instructions can be a bit confusing, but they are laid out that way in order to cover various situations or reason for why your dog needs this remedy. If a dog has an inflammation or a severe infection with red sores and swollen gums, then use 10 pills three times a day until the swelling and pain subside and then reduce the dose to 6 or 7. If a dog has some plaque, tartar or bad breath, start with a dose of 7-8 pills as it will take longer to get the mouth clean. For ongoing maintenance and long term care, a dose of 5-6 pills may be sufficient. As each dog is unique the dose can be adjusted to fit the dog and the specific problem they are dealing with.

The good thing is that if one day they get an extra pill or they are extra sore and they get a bit more, it won't hurt them.

Hi, the oral health remedy for dogs and cats is very similar, with the difference really just being the dosage. For cats the dose is 2-3 pills twice a day. For dogs the dose is a bit more due to their size. If you are using the dental treatment as a preventative or just to help clear some extra plaque or red gums, then dose 2 pills twice a day. If your pet's case is more severe, they have stomatitis, inflamed gums or cheek, nerve pain, tooth pain, are refusing to eat due to the pain in their mouth - then administer 3 pills twice a day or even three times a day until the swelling and pain subsides.
