The Kids Book of Canadian History

This introduction to Canadian history will be interesting to adults as well as older children. The illustrations are high quality, and add to the reader's understanding of the historical periods covered in the book. Although the book, or at least the edition I read, was written several years ago, it gave me a good background for understanding present-day Canada. It doesn't go into much detail about First Nations people, but that might inspire you to read The Kids Book of Aboriginal Peoples of Canada. These books are so well written, I'm interested to see if there are more in this series.

I am giving you my review of these three books on Canadian History for Kids together because I bought them for my grandson who lives in the U.S. but also has dual citizenship and gets really good marks in American History.My grandson tells me that the books are great and he is really enjoying them - they are his 'go to bed books'.A great investment in American/Canadian relations

Great start to introducing Canadian history to my 5-year old. Illustrations are excellent and break down of topics are brief with just the right amount of depth. We just don't know enough about our history. Best to keep an easily accessible source at home for the kids to look over and discuss when the occasion arises.

An important look at how settlers helped shaped Canada today.

My son loves reading interesting things in bed by himself at night so I thought this would be an educational read but it’s quite old so I think we will need to read it with him to correct/update the information he is getting. Otherwise a decent book at a good price point.

It's a good book, even for adults. However, it's not up to date. It only goes until Pierre Trudeau's government.

Great book for new people in Canada like me. I bought this book to help me understand Canadian history for Canadian Citizenship Exam. I found it very helpful.

My grandson is going to be all over this. He has a voracious appetite for Canadian pioneer history and this book will fill some of that void. Top quality book and shipped at lightning speed.

This is great for my 8 year old who has started history and social studies in elementary school. I myself find it educational and easy to read.
