The perfect choice for cruisers
We sleep beneath a ceiling fan every night at home, and we miss the soft breeze and white noise when we cruise. We bought small travel fans years ago but stopped using them because their shape is bulky for packing and their cords are problematic in cruise cabins which are infamous for having few power outlets. These fans solve both of these problems and more. We bought two. They are flat and comparatively thin. I was skeptical about the run times so I immediately fully charged them and turned them on, one on high speed and the other on medium. The air flow at either speed was better than expected - a happy bonus. By actual observation, the fan on high ran 9 hours and 5 minutes - precisely as advertised. The one on medium had been running 15 hours when I turned it off and went to bed. The advertised 20 hour run time for medium speed seems very plausible. The noise levels for both speeds are low and unobtrusive. Best of all is the unique magnetic base feature - a real bonus for cruisers because these fans can be attached to the metal stateroom wall. The adjustable base adds to make optimal positioning at any angle possible. And wall mounting frees up the already limited surface spaces of stateroom bedside tables. I did not definitively confirm recharging time but I can say that from zero to full it is something less than 6 hours. If it holds up under repeated use, this fan checks all of the boxes for veteran cruisers.

Great fan, but proprietary plug design ruins it
Neat little device with strong magnets on the bottom. Wish there were more color choices. But the thing that ruins it for this device is the required proprietary cable. It has a USB to round power tip cable. (The actual charging port on the device is the old school small, round power port) Why the heck wouldn't you just use a standard USB port? Don't know, but having to keep up with a proprietary USB cable, when I have a dozen standard micro USB cables laying around just ruins it for me for this device.

Button placement is fatal flaw
Overall, a neat little fan. Unfortunately, it has one critical design flaw: the button placement. The whole point of being battery powered is that it is portable. You can charge it up, throw it in a bag, and have a little fan with you wherever you go.There are 2 buttons on the front, one which cycles a timer and the other which cycles power/speed. So if you bump the button, it turns on. Because it cycles through 4 states (off, low, medium, high), if you have it in a bag and it's getting bumped, there's a 75% chance it's going to be bumped into an 'on' state. And because the buttons stick out of the front of the fan and have a very low activation pressure, and there's nothing that sticks out further to protect the buttons from getting bumped, there is about a 100% chance that, when you get wherever you're going, you're going to find that the fan turned on in your bag and ran the battery out.Even a simple ridge around the buttons, or insetting them slightly would protect the buttons from at least most of the accidental switching.

Comfortable air flow for a portable fan
Item is well packaged for shipment., no broken pieces, etc. Includes the fan, and USB cable. It would be nice is they would include a 120V plug-in adapter so you could charge this without having to use the USB ports on your computer, or the cell phone chargers..Rechargeable built-in battery is an improvement over the previous model, which required batteries. When I used this fan during a recent power failure, the fan, which had a fully charged battery, ran on medium speed for about 5 hours before our power was resumed..The fan hardly makes any noise, and the volume of air at the medium setting is just fine for my needs. I have two of the new model, and two of the previous model. They all appear to be well constructed.... I do not think it would be advisable to drop these fans onto a hard surface and do not let them get wet..I will order two more fans very soon as we head into hurricane season here in Florida.

Still running 35 hours later! *** UPDATED
***UPDATE***I'm back from our cruise and I can report that this fan stuck to the cabin ceiling just fine! Ran all night long and kept my menopausal self nice and cool! ****I purchased this fan to take on an upcoming cruise as well as land vacations. I suffer from hot flashes and the fan I had been taking on trips only lasted 5-6 hours (on battery) - so I knew I needed something that would last a little longer. I was intrigued by the thought that I might be able to attach it to the ceiling of a cruise ship (via magnets) to use as a ceiling fan.Positives: I received this fan two days ago - let it fully charge (about 5 hours) and then turned it on slow speed. So far, it has been 35 hours and it is still going strong on a single charge.High speed puts out an impressive amount of air. This fan is much more lightweight than I anticipated - and the overall footprint is relatively small for the blade size. I don't think it could have been made any smaller or lighter (which is good for travel)Here are the negatives:The Magnets are not terribly strong. This slid down my refrigerator, although it seemed to hold reasonably well to my microwave door. This may work fine on a cruise wall. We will see. Magnets usually hold much better when on a horizontal surface (like the ceiling) so I am reserving judgment about whether or not this will work for that purpose until after the cruise.Proprietary plug is a bit of a pain, but I knew it had one when I bought it, so I can't ding it.So - I'm giving this 5 stars for now - based on the long battery life and light weight. I'll report back after my cruise in November if it doesn't stick to the wall or ceiling of the cruise ship.
