Waterproof your canvas!
I purchased Otter wax to help my canvas boots be water repellent. I live in the Pacific Northwest where it rains a lot. I found my boots are waterproof now so I can enjoy wearing them frequently without worrying about rain. So easy to use, high quality wax, used for two pairs of boots and still have some left over. It’s not sticky nor extremely greasy like mink oil. Good value making my boots look great.

Work great to touch up my Levi's
I happened into waxed denim from an internet purchase of some Levi's. I knew I liked the appearance of the pictures, they didn't say they were waxed, but after receiving them and researching I realized what I had received.I loved the jeans. I also read that most people recommend not washing them. The pair I got was a bit big, so I did wash them once on gentle, no soap, and still the waxed finished faded a bit in some spots, and some typical wear spots also appeared in the crotch area, above my back pocket where I keep my wallet, and along the outside seam down the outsides of the legs. My research on Youtube started about what I had and how to fix it.There were several options and this is the one I settled on. The bar is far smaller than I expected by eyeballing it, but it lasted much longer than I expected. I touched up the entire jeans, front to back, and could probably do so 5 more times with this small bar. That being said, if I order again I will probably order the larger one.The texture (tack) of the jeans I had were already cured. Adding this made them feel more oily and different-- the beeswax content is apparent by the tack. I froze them first to set, and chose not to do the blow dryer because I don't own one, and because I had no "white".Freezing first didn't get rid of the tack for me. So I decided to throw them in the dryer for about 5 minutes on low. This did a great job of sealing and removing the tack and smoothing it out and make it more like what I received originally from Levis. As some other reviewers stated, I couldn't see waxing an entire denim garment with this product. It seems like "dry" denim would take a tremendous amount of this product. I am interested in some of the other soft cream type products meant for this activity and if I try one I will compare it here. Finally, some people remarked about the smell. I consider this an extremely low fragrance product, and any scent that it does have seem very natural. It has an organic smell, not floral and not spicy, more of a muted saddle soap type smell, or a mild shoe cream smell. Maybe a potato-ish, leather-ish smell. The product contains no animal products, and is a mix of bees wax and plant based oils.

Great product
I recently used the Otter Wax Fabric Wax Bar to waterproof my canvas jacket, and the results were impressive. The application process was straightforward: I rubbed the wax bar directly onto the fabric, ensuring even coverage, and then used a hairdryer to heat the wax, allowing it to penetrate the material effectively. After letting the jacket cure for 24 hours, it developed a slightly darker, matte finish that enhanced its rugged look. The waterproofing performance has been outstanding, effectively repelling water during light rain showers. While the bar is smaller than expected, a little goes a long way. Overall, I’m very satisfied with this product and plan to use it on other canvas items.

Try it
Works like it should. Use a heat gun or blow dryer to melt it in. Just rubbing it on will leave wax on everything it touches. Massive discoloration of clothes but didn’t care because they were on work pants.

Built for the Mountains - A Great American Essential
Great product, easy to use. Designed for rugged, heavy-duty applications, so a few smudges on backcountry pants from heavy thick application are no problem.

Great stuff but used to be cheaper
I purchased the extra large bar for the same price as this 2.25oz bar a few years ago here on Amazon. Anyways, this 2.25oz bar was just enough to treat a men’s medium sized cotton jacket. Do yourself a favor and use a cheap heat gun to melt it in, it will save you lots of time. Watch some videos on how to use apply it. My jacket is now very water resistant and blocks the wind better. A waxed cotton jacket is more durable than synthetic materials. I had the tiniest campfire ember land on my expensive down jacket and it burned a hole straight through it. This doesn’t happen with waxed cotton. Also waxed cotton is way more stylish.

Good but not with an hair drier.
Good product, but do not expect to apply it with a Hair drier. No way. It require a professional hot air blower.

easy to apply. will be buying more in future
i got this to use instead of filson tin. it covers way more material. you do need to use a heatgun and it still remains more on surface but i think it goes further. used 1/2 bar for sleeves chest back and shoulders of filson guide sweater and the rest plus another half (total 1.5 bars) for filson tincloth cruiser. just walked in rain for 30 minutes and water beaded off. its easier than using beeswax and has pine smell. its the texture of earwax so not too hard and not a paste but some pressure and warmth from hands it goes right onto material. will be buying more in future since i have a bunch of oilskin stuff including tincloth bibs i wear daily. not looking foward to waxing those lol.
