UPDATE: I have alerts! Of course it is likely moths but the cam is down. I had to shut down the app on the iPad as I turned the iPad from portrait to landscape and back.It freezes and shuts down the cam. It will likely comeback sometime later. This did not used to be a problem. Is the cam and the app the by same developer?Do tell. Can the cam be updated with firmware to be Standard compliant? So we can us a standard compliant app?That would help.Before the update:I bought this quite a while back. And in the beginning I liked it. Then as time went on I started to wonder and looked deeper.I installed the camera in my garage and everything seemed fine. I wondered a bit about privacy. Checked the the settings and turned off the mic as a test. Do I really want to be monitored in mainland China or if the cam is hacked? Seems unlikely but these days you never know. For months every time I checked the settings the mic was back on. I am generally alone in my garage and do not talk but this is a test. Mic is on yet again tonight. To me, that is either a bug or spooky. The app has degraded on the iPad Pro to the point where you can not switch from portrait to landscape sometimes. Without it freezing. Used to work well. If you do change a setting you often have to manually power cycle the cam as it gets stuck. Not always but often enough. And yes, you normally allow the cam to reboot which does take time. Not in a rush. If traveling that would be a show stopper. Hoping they replace this or upgrade the app or the firmware etc. This is an inexpensive cam but it should not be degrading but getting better, even if only slightly.

I got this to keep an eye on my cats while being out of town for the weekend. The picture quality is good for the price. The motion detection works great. It was a steal at that price. I was able to take snapshots of the cats. Also the app notified me each time there was movement.

This camera system has crystal clear video and includes night vision and motion sensor monitoring. There are so many things I use this for. My kids don't know I have it, so I can keep an eye on them when they are home alone. I can watch my dogs and I keep aimed towards my front door. Which means I can make sure the kids aren't sneaking out and intruders aren't coming in. It's a great price and I am considering buying more for my home.

Would not connect , period. Recognized SSID, asked for password, entered. 7 times. Tried rebooting camera 3 times. Tried QR code twice. Felt like an idiot , back and forth slowly . Never beeped once. Guess what, Amazon. That's two different cams ordered, received and back to you. Third type ordered on the way. Maybe 3 times is a charm. PS. Tried on two completely different networks.

Works on my iPad 3 and my wife’s Samsung galaxy. Clear picture, good night vision.Update: App stopped working after one day. Deleted and reinstalled App still not working. It says “Reloading”. But will not work. I will continue to troubleshoot but so far NFG. Update: removed camera from App (go to “remove device”), reinstalled per instructions, now working again. Audio is barely intelligible both listening and talking. The people who are complaining about the App as I initially did only need to delete the app from their device and reinstall it. That will solve the problem. For the price, this is an excellent security system. You will need to install a micro SD card for optimal recording.

Super easy setup and awesome if you want a simple camera on a budget.I purchase this set to watch over my son when I am cook. It is very useful for me.

the cam worked once during initial setup. after that, every time i go on the app that the camera needs always say that the cam is offline (fully charged). There are so many qr codes on the box that leads to these apps for Chinese Singing Cam Girls.

OVERALL THIS WORKS. THE PICTURE QUALITY IS NOT ALWAYS AMAZING AND SOMETIMES IT FREEZES. I HAVE AMAZING INTERNET SO ITS A DEVICE ISSUE. HOWEVER, THAT BEING SAID, IT STILL WORKS WELL AND LETS ME CHECK IN ON MY ANIMALS AS I NEED. THERE ARE SOME FEATURES THAT I WISH IT HAD.
