Three episodes of the Seventies action series featuring bionic agent Jamie Sommers (Lindsay Wagner). In 'Black Magic', Jaime poses as the niece of the feuding Carstairs in order to obtain a secret alloy formula. 'Motorcycle Boogie' sees the Bionic lass teaming with stunt motorcyclist Evel Knievel (well, who better?) when she has to obtain a stolen computer tape from the KGB in East Germany. In 'The Jailing of Jaime', Jaime finds herself imprisoned for treason when she fails to deliver a million dollar decoding machine.

The Bionic Babe
I have just finnished watching Volume 1 of The Bionic Woman and enjoyed it very much. The Sound and picture quality are so amazing it does look as though it hadf just been made today not 20 odd years ago. Only one problem is that they should release the whole series and not one disc with three episodes from each season. Please Playback could you please bring out more episodes to DVD Thank you

bionic Woman Missing episode
To date the only complete series of the Bionic Woman on DVD are series one and two. Before those releases there were a few DVD volumes each containing three selected random episodes. This volume one disc has one episode from season one, "The Jailing of Jamie" and another from series two "Black Magic". So if you already have the complete series one and two you will not be interested in them again, but there is one other episode here that is not available anywhere else. This is "Motorcycle Boogie". This is an episode that sees Jamie Sommers team up with Evil Knievel in an interesting story.. The Bionic Woman was a spin off series from The Six Million Dollar Man that had been based on the novel "Cyborg" by Martin Caidin This spin off series had its own unique style. Jamie Sommers uses her Bionics only when she has to. She usually manages to hide her special ability and often uses them in a way that makes it look like other people have actually lifted something heavy or broken down a door or lock. Jamie has a Bionic right arm, two Bionic legs and a Bionic ear. For some people the show was just far fetched nonesence. Some people would even dismiss it as daft. However, the show had one major ingrediant. It was fun. This is science fiction where anything is possible. Where the "what if" thought comes into play. This was a good show that you shouldn't take too seriously. It was meant to be far fetched, fun and entertaining. The world is serious enough so this was great escapism. There are two regular characters familiar from the Six Million Dollar Man with Dr Ruby Wells played by Martin E Brookes and Oscar Goldman played by Richard Anderson. Also Lee Majors guests as Steve Austin. For me the Bionic Woman was a more interesting character that Steve Austin. She has confidence but is also vunrable. She is slighty scatter brained and gentle. She has interesting asignments that put her in glamourous situations and gritty moments in tough environments. There is great humour also and the whole thing is just good fun. This was the original Bionic Woman with interesting stories, bright scenes, light heartedness, well produced, escapist fun.

Jaime Sommers lives again!!!
Fantastic sound & picture quality make this classic TV programme transfer to DVD a must have for all you Bionic fans out there. Forget the re-runs on SciFi-all grainy picture & poor sound quality-this is like watching a shiny brand new show.So clear, you can even tell when it's Jaimes's stunt double performing those dodgy leaps from the rooftops!!!Just one minor complaint Universal-can we have some Fembots next time please???
