Well Worth It.
I'm not a professional, but look after our 60' Sailboat, 28 ft Speed Boat, kayak and an inflatable dinghy. I bought the book to learn some more tricks of the trade to make my life easier and I must admit, I did. I have my own systems and products which happen to coincide very closely with Natalie's, but I did learn a couple of things which made the book well worth it.The only gripe I have is that there was no mention about metal work and what products and methods she uses to clean and maintain them. In particular anodised aluminium, I would have paid more just to have her secrets for looking after that stuff. The other thing I pondered was the effect of bleach on the stitching on canopies and Bimini tops, but maybe her customers have the expensive gortex thread, or maybe I'm just wrong and it doesn't matter.I take my hat off to her though, from experience I know there is nothing more daunting and depressing than looking at an endless expanse of gelcoat on a boat sitting in the water, waiting to be polished on a hot summers day.

Excellent read and great advice
We use this like a bible on the our 58' boat for cleaning and maintenance. Preventative maintenance and cleaning not only keep the boat looking nice but actually prevent many of the harder things to address. Have actually used the company she runs to do a hard clean and wax on the used boat we just bought and their process brought the hull and decking back to a like new white. Amazed. Highly recommend.

lots of useful , up to date information.
The book covers every aspect of boat cleaning and maintenance, including, canvas, plexiglass, isenglass, fiberglass, teak, vinyl seatiing, etc. There is a section on useful household alternatives, such as hydrogen peroxide, vinegar and baking soda. I found this very informative as a new boat owner doing a lot of the cleaning and maintenance myself.I am happy to recommend it.

Great information
This is a very worthwhile for the new boat owner (like me). I read it cover to cover at first, even though a lot of it doesn't apply to my small boat. I still use it for a reference guide...and often go back and re-read sections. For an "instructional" book...it isn't dry reading as I expected....It is more like having a conversation with the author....Very worthwhile if you want to know the hints and tricks about washing and waxing a boat

Great tips. We had been rubbing out our boat which was painted with Awlgrip. We had no idea we were ruining the finish. After reading the book we bought the products suggested and the finish is shinny again although there are a few spots where the awlgrip was worn away. A very expensive lesson.

Good book, I'm going to order another for home
This books gives a lot of good ideas and when and how to use various products. The writer is sensitive to the environment but also wants to present techniques and products that actually work. As anyone who has replaced canvas knows, it can be a very expensive proposition, so maintaining it and getting the maximum life span is a high priority for me.I will be ordering another book to keep at home, as this one went onto the boat. The suggestions on removing stains will work well at home.

Excellent Discussion of Different Cleaning Topics
I bought this book after reading the author's blog, and I'm glad I did. While her blog has more current product recommendations, this book contains a terrific discussion of the different cleaning chores that every boat owner faces. It gives detailed accounts and helpful hints on how to perform the various functions and also gives a recommended schedule for each area. I was impressed not only with the quality of the content but with the author's tone and obvious knowledge.

Rather based on American products although it is possible to buy UK equivalents but other than that a good grounding in the do's and don'ts of cleaning a boat. I look forward to putting into practice this winter.
