The conversation of the counterweight could have been made better by adding threaded holes for the weights on all sides of the mount, making the overall size more Handleable during use and storage.

The Machine shop work is good. I added a drop of machine oil to the threads on the screw for smoother operation. I purchased just in case I needed counter balancing as I did not want to remove my phone case when mounting on a Ziyun 4 smooth gimbal. As of yet I have not needed to use it as recommended my phone case appears to be light enough that I can balance without it. The only problem I see on the Ziyun smooth 4, is you will not be able to place the gimbal in standby mode with the Eachshot counterbalance mounted outside the arm. This is how it is shown on the info / sales picture. You can mount it on the inside of the arm and then be able use standby mode, but you will then not have room to attach the weights. On the plus side when I added a sun hood to my iphone 6s for outside shooting, the hood makes my phone front heavy (screen side). I have found that I have just enough space on the arm that the phone attaches too, to place the counter balance clamp along with 3 weights on the same arm and not have any interference with the Ziyun smooth 4 gimbal. Then I can achieve perfect balance.

Please notice that this review is based on the use of the Zhiyun Smoth 4 and a iPhone 11 Pro Max, having said that, the clamp and the weights work as expected when using them in the right position, however, the red screw material is my problem with regards to quality as it is made of plastic, and given the use this will have, I'm afraid that this could be broken due to use or pressure, also at lease to me the inner spring that support the screw in position does not look very sturdy but weak

These little guys do the trick quite well! The only problem is that my Zhyun Smooth Q has a hard time holding these and an iPhone 7 Plus and a moment wide angle lens all at once. With a gimbal that uses stronger motors, these would be fantastic. Just make sure your gimbal is able to do the job you ask of it. Otherwise this thing has a pretty good design with a nice strong clamp and easily adjusted counterweighting.

With the iPhone X max wrapped in a Moment case and Anamorphic lens it balances just fine, but because I also have an external mic I have to move the phone over an inch to make room for the cord and the weights just cannot balance out. So I have to order another set. But that’s OK because it’s a good product. The weights do not go out tangent to the arm they are perpendicular but I believe this is better as the weight is less acute on the Smooth 4 arm and so the magnetic motors don’t have to move so much on a strong pivot. I think it’s the best design out there so far.

I recently purchased a DJI Osmo 2 gimbal stabilizer and a lens to go with my iPhone 7+ for a project. I don't believe that I need to explain to you what happened when both phone and lens were installed into the gimbal. The reason you're even reading this is to know whether or not this item works to counter balance the weight of an extra phone lens on a gimbal. It does.This counterweight gives you the ability to adjust the balance of the gimbal by adding or removing the 4 weights included, each weighing at slightly under 20 grams. 4 stars for build quality, not high end but functional.I think that it is worth the money for the purpose it was created for.

The Gimbal would not work with my new iPhone promax, it was too heavy. I contacted the manufacturer of the gimbal and they told me there was nothing that could be done. I purchased this counterweights, installed it and it works great. Excellent instructions, very easy to install.
