I bought the Dr. Groot Scalp Revitalizing Solution Thickening Essentials Travel Set mainly because I’ve been dealing with thinning hair and wanted something gentle but effective—especially for my scalp. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Dr. Groot, so I figured this travel set would be a good way to test it out without committing to full-size bottles right away.First off, I really love how refreshing the products feel on the scalp. There’s this cooling, almost minty sensation that makes my scalp feel super clean without being harsh or drying. After just a few uses, I noticed way less buildup, and my scalp wasn’t itchy or flaky anymore. That alone made it worth it for me.As for thickening, I won’t say it magically made my hair grow overnight, but it definitely made my roots feel fuller and healthier. My hair had more volume and felt stronger, especially around the crown where it was starting to thin. Plus, it smells really clean and herbal—nothing too strong, which I appreciate.The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the size. Since it’s a travel set, I totally get that the bottles are small, but I ran out of the shampoo and tonic pretty quickly. I wish there was just a little more product in each bottle so I could get a better sense of long-term results.That said, it’s still a great introduction to the Dr. Groot line, and if you’re curious about scalp health or thickening treatments, this set is a solid place to start.

A lot of the time “thickening shampoos and conditioners seem to make your hair fuller, but also dry feeling. This Groot combo makes my hair feel so soft while fuller at the same time! Love it. Very good product.

Shampoo would never lather. I do not have naturally oily hair but after using this, so much build up in hair-my hair was sticking to my scalp with build up and clumps. My hair felt dirtier every time using it, no matter how much “rinsing” I did. My hair was shedding worse than before. After two weeks and several uses per week, I found it to be one of the most disgusting products I’ve ever used. (It smells okay. )
