Decent chainsaw, but short battery life
So I decided to buy a green works electric chainsaw because honestly I don't need a chainsaw very often, but it does come in handy here and there. I have other green works tools which I'm happy with so I figured I'd add another. As far as use I found it real easy. Pretty much took it out of the box, filled it with chain oil and dropped a battery in it and away I went. The big test for this was a 30 foot branch fell from a tree in my back yard. This thing cut through it like butter. Had the whole branch chopped up in about an hour. Did jam a couple of times when it came to the thickest part of the trunk, but honestly I think that was more my lack of experience than anything else. Plus the thickest part of the branch was thicker than the blade length.Only issue for me was how long the battery lasted. I only got about 20 minutes on a battery tops. Luckily I've got 4 of them but still if I was taking down an entire tree I probably couldn't cut for more than like 2 hours tops. But for me I just need it to cut occasional branches, shrubs, branches, etc. So aside from that one branch I'm really never going to use it for more than 20 minutes tops.

This is a powerful battery-powered chain saw.
I now have 6 garden tools that operate on the same 60V battery. Very convenient and easy to use

Very impressed
I was a little leery of an electric chainsaw, but I’m a believer now. It has more than enough power for use on our property, is reliable, easy to use, and requires minimal maintenance. Battery life was not an issue using the 4amp/hr one that we have for our trimmer.

Didn’t work at all
Garbage. The trigger will not pull at all. It doesn’t run. Tried everything I could think of, even searched videos and looked up troubleshooting guides. Nothing. Found out that I’m beyond my window to return it (my fault for waiting to use it), so it is now a $200+ paper weight. Extremely disappointed in this!

Works well when it works, Try it as soon as you get it
I did not need the saw when it came. By the time I did it was past the return period. It worked great for awhile then the trigger started responding intermittently. I opened a ticket with Greenworks hoping to just get a straight trade. They gave me the run around for weeks, it got to the point where their representative was asking me to send him videos and I gave up. Very disappointing, I was planning on building a "stable" of equipment around this battery platform, but after how I was treated by Greenworks I think I'll try another vendor.

Nice!
Let me start by saying that I never owned or operated a chainsaw in my life. That said, I had a professional taking down a cherry tree that was a concern to our safety and house. I would say it was about 16" thick. I then was left with the tree on ground to be cut up to be used for fire wood, the tree professional gave me a few tips on how to use a chainsaw and then went to buy this to tackle the job. Was a no brainer as I already own several tools of the 60V greenworks family and I could use the batteries I already have, 2 are 4-Amp and 1 is 2.5-Amp. The picture show was I was able to cut in 4h of work including carrying all the wood from about 60 feet away witch was prob half of the time spent, I still have half of the tree on the ground to cut. The chainsaw worked flawlessly with plenty of power to cut trough, even the big logs that you see on the side holding the rest of the wood. As far as battery life, with the 3 batteries I have I can finish whatever job I have in the yard (0.75 acre), mowing, blowing leafs after foliage or snow blowing as I always have 2 batteries charging wile I use one so I never run out of juice. Now, if you only had one battery things would be different as you will have to stop working after 30min and wait 1-1.5h to recharge. I believe that with these battery operated tolls you need to have multiple batteries on hand in order to complete bigger jobs to avoid the frustration of waiting to recharge. One thing I noticed was that with the 2.5-Amp the chainsaw seemed to have less power cutting trough the wood. In conclusion I think this is a great chainsaw for regular yard maintenance, is probably not the right chainsaw if you are a professional in the trade as then you probably wont even consider an electric chainsaw...this is not a payed review and I did not receive this tool for free in exchange for a review (unfortunately)
