Very good
Bought for my daughters room as she is always leaving her light on. I was replacing a much older Compact fluorescent light that I thought was 20 watts. Also it gave me a chance to check how good the Samsung LED 8 watt actually is before purchasing any more. As it happened I found the older compact in the daughters room was actually only 10 watts so not much of a saving. Anyway I tried it in a light with three glass globes aimed upward at first or wanted to. The baynet caps in the fitting are a little tight and as I tried to turn the bulb I found the ceramic turning against the metal B22 base so halted as I did not want to damage it. Luckily it was not harmed. I have fitted it in the daughters room now and must say so far though it is early days am highly delighted with it. The light output I think is more than the previous compact fluorescent. It looks very good in the downward mode I must admit. Even my wife commented it looked quite good and she is normally disinerested in my energy saving exploits. One thing I am happy about is as she reads alot with it on that according to the write up's there is no UV as compared to the compact's which I have read can cause cateracts (do not quote me on this as I can not remember where I read it) Anyway my conclussion is I would much prefer the LED lamps in the downward type fittings if I had not already got compact fluorescents. So far I can not comment on the upward chandalier globe type lamps though I might change as the wife does not like the compact stick type in them as they generally stick up proud of the fittings. At the price of £12 ish it is hard to justify changing but for anyone that has the old type lamps it is the way to go. They are bound to get cheaper the price has already dropped so when they are alittle less I might well be tempted to replace most of my compacts.

Falls well short on life expectancy
I bought this lamp in March 2012 and it looks a perfectly good quality unit. I have a number of different makes of LED lamps and some have failed in less than 12-months, but this one seemed to have surpassed the others. With LEDs supposedly being longer life I was surprised to find in July 2014 when it went to about 50% brightness. The device is supposed to have "long life expectancy" according to the specification, and I quote, "Average Life: 35000 hours" Even if it were on for 24-hours per day (24 x 365) that's 8760 hours. In two years that's 17,520 hours. It was only on for a few hours per day and I estimate it has only lasted around 2,000-hours while in the on condition. This falls way short of the life expectancy.

Soft gentle illumination for little expenditure
I am one of those energy profligates that leave a light on all day on occasion to arrive back to a lit house.....I eschew tungstens, have gone through two 8w energy saving spiral fluorescents, and found myself using an 11w stick ... so I decided to get an LED bayonet cap bulb, and to get it through Amazon. It arrived swiftly and I have installed it.Its lovely, you'd think there was a 40w tungsten in that shade, the passage is fully and adequately lit and there is no glare.I'll maybe edit this when I know how long it's lasted, if it doesn't outlast me!Well Satisfied I am!

Bright, but still cold
Good quality product, dispatched quickly. However the light is very intense LED like. Might work in an enclosed lamp shade to warm and diffuse the light more. Meanwhile it sits in my desk drawer.

A very good LED for my study
I am just starting to replace all my lightbulbs with LEDs. I bought 2 different ones to try out. The 10W daylight bulb I purchased is shockingly bright and shows up deficiencies in the dusting. This bulb is brighter than the central room light I previously had but I like it very much. I have it in a traditional lampshade and can look up at it without too much squinting. I find the light quite warm. I am about to order several more for larger rooms.

Life expectancy not as long as originally advertised, It lasted for 4 years with very little use overall, quite expensive compared to other similar products.

Well made and reliable
Perfect answer to replace standard suspended light fitting. Not so good for uplighters in which lamp is mounted horizontally.
