Q: looking for an insole that does not take up too much room in shoe?

These are very thing. The heel does have cushioning but usually it is the mid to bottom that people have problems with and this particular insole is almost flat. It does have a nice arch support.

Q: I'm a caregiver for elderly and am on my feet running up and down stairs 10 hours a day. are these appropriate for me?

Lillie Dr. Sholls makes a gel insert for ladies that are just about $2.00 more and they would really cushion your feet much more...jus sayin'.

Q: Are the dr. scholl’s comfort tri-comfort insoles designed to replace your shoes insoles or does it get installed on top of it?

Place the Tri-Comfort Insoles in your shoes on top of the existing insoles.

Q: Are you supposed to remove your shoes' insoles before putting these in?

Hi Mike! No. You do not remove insoles in your shoes. You place the Tri-Comfort Insoles in your shoes as-is.
