This IS the doorbell system you've been looking for !!
The media could not be loaded. Hold on and read. Before going off buying some overpriced NuTone or Honeywell unit stop. This is the one you want hands down. I recently installed a RFID badge reader system for my home. It's a 12V DC unit and has it's own integrated DOORBELL button. This doorebell is designed for a traditional 16V A/C doorbell system. A few emails back and forth with these guys and we were all set with the install. Talk about helpful, wow. Go ahead and try to get help from some customer agent with NuTone or Honeywell or their like. LOL, yeah, forget about that. This is a solid unit and they put the cost right where it needed to be. A good solid speaker, solid electronics, it's loud and clear. It' totally programmable and allows you to pretty much add any audio file you want under the sun. I attached a video to give you an idea how beautiful this sounds. So far neighbors could've sworn I installed actual bells in the house. In person, it's just perfect. In the video, you'll hear an electronic "Beep". This is not the doorbell but my RFID control pad. It sounds horrible but it is what it is. However when the doorbell kicks in you just gotta smile.

! ! ! Absolutely Amazing Chime Box ! ! !
This is an absolutely amazing chime box that allows you to program different music to each doorbell and easily swap out music to go with the seasons if you so choose. Changing music is as simple as putting the micro SD card in your computer and dragging music into the proper folder. You can even drop multiple files for some randomness if you so desire. Overall volume can be adjusted with a dial inside the chime box and you can even add another external speaker and run the wire to another room.Installation for multiple old-school push button doorbells is incredibly straight forward.Installation for one video doorbell requires a Video Door Button Interface, a little four wire device that sits in between the doorbell and the chime box, which makes the install a little tougher but still pretty straight forward.Installing multiple video doorbells is where it gets interesting. You will need a Video Door Button Interface for each doorbell and the wiring, while not overly complicated, can get a bit messy. I highly recommend printing out the schematic (available on their website) and then tracing over each wire path in a different color to keep things straight. I also recommend using "Lever Wire Connectors" where the number of ports is (Number of doorbells + 2).There are even additional addons through their website for expanding the chime box to even more speakers and doorbells.Top it all off with great customer service! (less than a day for e-mail/messenger response in my experience)

Updated: can’t work w Ring
Updated 2022:I used this for years with the standard set of doorbell options. I never did figure out how to load custom sounds! Because of security concerns, we finally broke down and installed Ring cameras. After (literally and actually) spending hours on the phone with Ring technical assistance, we were unable to get it to work. Now it’s basically just a cover for the hole made for the old-style doorbell it replaced. Downgrading to one star based on a few years of slight, but consistent, disappointment and frustration. From 2017: I know this is a quality product, but using it/programming it has been much, much more complicated than I expected. In full disclosure, I haven't put a ton of time into it besides grabbing the instructions online, however, I keep putting off a deeper dive because it looks like it will require a lot of time. When my electrician installed the device, it had different chimes for each of our doors - and that was great. However, the chimes were so hokey (one featured cannon shots!) that the contractors working on our house couldn't resist activating the doorbell all day, every day. I attempted to change the front door chime, and somehow ended up resetting both doors to the same chime. unfortunately, that chime (bells) is LOOOONNNGGGGG.... People arrive, ring the bell. I can go to the door, open the door, and complete introductions before it's done. So, three stars because it's been complicated. On the plus side, the speakers are amazing and the quality of the sound is great. I am looking forward to using it during the holidays but right now I just need a short, plain-Jane chime. Wish that were easier.

Returning - someone who doesn't install these for a living needs to write the installation guide
Looked really cool and needed a hardwire installation to go with a SimpliSafe doorbell. Took a long time to interpret what wires needed to be attached where from just schematics. When we finally figured out the unit needed to be tied to the existing doorbell transformer that was the nail in the coffin. The builders installed the transformer UNDER the house, 20' away from the door. We're not busting up walls just to install this fancy unit.I do technical work for a living - programming, have rebuilt a 350 small block, etc. so feel I'm reasonably technically competent. My experience with electrical diagrams, however is close to nill and the instructions available on the single sheet included were nowhere near enough. The website referenced was down for several days. When it finally came back online, while there was a lot of documentation, there were no up to date videos or actual photographs of what the installed wiring should look like. These would have been a life saver and would have taught me how reality translates to schematic drawings. Someone who doesn't build or install these for a living needs to write the installation guide.

Will not work with Vivint Doorbell
Bought the unit, and even with the "video doorbell interface" that the company sells it will not work with the Vivint video doorbell. Now this isn't the companies fault, I've come to find that Vivint stuff (even the zwave certified stuff) does not play well with anything else. The unit itself is amazingly well made. The electronics and soldering jobs are very well done, why I gave it 4 stars.
