Cool clock for anyone actually
Easy to use and highly intuitive set up. Literally it is easier to push the buttons and set it up than to read the manual then set it up. JUST SO EASY. Size is easy to find -feel for- even in the dark. A good option for visually impaired but also good for those who like to hear the time without having the light of a clock by the bed at night. That's how I use it. Push it once and it tells you the time, twice will also give you the date. The two volume settings are a nice touch. I love in the morning when I want to know if it is time to get up I just push that button and it tells me. (Bedroom is blacked out so no dawn until curtains are opened so that's why I need to know time). On days I do set alarm it works well. If you are someone who sleeps through alarms this isn't your clock. It will stop after a bit and there is no snooze, either. It will work great for most people. I absolutely love this clock. I dropped it on a hard floor once and it still works fine. Little kids would love this clock. Not just for the visually impaired. It's really cool.

Perfect for my dad
Dad (who lives in assisted living) has bad macular degeneration and a stroke knocked out his left visual field. While he can see the large numbers on his bedside clock, he can’t make out am or pm. Also, at 95 years old, he gets confused about the day of the week and date. He is most disoriented after waking from a nap or waking in the morning or middle of the night. This button on his bedside table has been wonderful for him. Before I put this at his bedside, he would awaken near midnight, get up and get dressed and go to the dining room expecting lunch only to be told by staff that he was 12 hours too early. I’m likely going to get another to put on the table by his recliner as he often dozes off in front of the TV and wakes up thinking it must be bedtime when it’s just early afternoon.

Easy to use and set up
* It's smaller than I expected with is a plus. Fits nicely on a bedside table and doesn't take up much space.Pro's:1. Simple to use. Put in batteries. Switch for high and low volume and a single programing button on back.2. Programing time and date is not complicated.3. The voice on low is loud enough to hear and the speach is very clear. It can be turned up to loud, about the volume of a normal speaking voice.4. It works really well.CONS:1. Programing takes repeated pressing of the button. Press once to select time and continue to press until desired time. Example. Press once and it may say 9 am but you want to set it to the time now, for example 5 pm. You have to keep pressing the button. Each time you press it advances an hour (can't go backwards): 10 am, 11 am, 12 pm, 1 pm ......5 pm. pause briefly and press again to set the minute of the hour. Setting the year, month, day of the week, and day of the month is the same process: 2021, Nov., 9th, Tue. (not necessarily in that order). It isn't hard or complicated. It just takes patience and a lot of presses of the single programing button.2. It is not lighted, but then there is nothing to see. All you have to do is tap the top and it speaks the time. If you press it a second time (within about 5 seconds or less) it will speak the day and date. Really easy to use.RECOMMENDATION: If you want a simple speaking clock that can be clearly heard then this is it. I highly recommend it.11-22-21 Update. My wife loves this talking clock. We don't use alarm. We use the basic time and date.Am buying a second one.

Not Bad At All - But Wish It Was Atomic
An engineer's review: I have two complaints/suggestions/observations: 1) Add a second button to set the alarm function or better yet one to set it and another one to turn on and off in case you don't need to use it - as it currently exists there is one button (along with the big button) to set the time and date and year and alarm. To set it you hold down the Set button (on the bottom) until it talks, then you push the big button multiple, multiple, multiple times (it increments one minute/hour/month/day/year at a time) until you have set the time, then date and then year (it starts at "24"). Then it asks for the alarm time. At that point you can stop and it will retain everything else. Or you can set it if you need it, of course. Turning the alarm off once set is slightly less complicated but still tedious. Once set, you push the big button once for the time and then again if you want the date. (Or if the alarm is going off you push it to stop the alarm [that also means there's no 'snooze' function :)] 2) I wish it was atomic - that is to say self-setting other than giving it your time zone. I looked at the reviews for all the other talking clocks and the ones that were talking atomic clocks were especially bad. This one (although not atomic) had the fewest negative reviews. It would seem talking clocks are hard to design and adding the atomic function apparently makes their design even more difficult ...

Absolutely worth every penny.
Valuable aid for anyone in need of easy access reminders of day, date, time. Requires easy set up- I needed assist, and requires one after purchased AAA battery . Easily belongs on bedside tabletop, and is easily portable. Improves quality of life and aides independence. For me, low volume was still somewhat loud, but still love it.

Easy to program
This was easy to program AFTER removing the back to put in batteries. Not everyone has a mini ( like for reading glasses screws ) Philips head screwdriver. The unit works well and is loud enough for my mother to hear even though she has limited hearing.
