Great value, great product, great overall.
I use these in a wood fired stove that my wife and I use to heat a soaking tub. They are great and provide a nice even boost of heat. Overall the stove aims for high heat but I throw one or two of these in now and again to maintain a prolonged heat. Best part is the almost complete lack of ash. All that remains is a light powder. They burn well, sort of a medium heat and long burn. Personally my wife and I love the smell. Be warned, however, your neighbors may not appreciate it. One neighbor asked us if we were burning rubber or plastic. No idea where she got that idea, but if you've never smelled peat burning it is possible that you could mistake it for a rubber product burning. For the price and weight and quality they are great. I will definitely be ordering more.

waste of money
Put these in my fireplace and did not smell a thing. Tried multiple times. Not sure why there are so many positive reviews... maybe you need to cook food with them?

Good product and burns well
Good product and burns well. We only have used them in our small fireplace and two or three at a time. I've used a few good pieces of wood to get the base of embers then just added briquettes about every half hour. The fragrance is not strong, about the same as flavor soaked wood chips.

Not the Irish Peat You Remember.
When visiting Ireland, I enjoyed several peat fires. The peat bricks I experienced in Ireland were lightweight and easily ignited. The Ireland Earth fire logs have little resemblance to real Irish peat and are obviously a highly compressed product, more akin to charcoal briquettes than natural peat. I found them almost impossible to light, even with the use of starter logs (lighter fluid may have worked...), and I have a lot of experience building wood fires. Bottom line - if you've been to Ireland and would like to replicate the peat fires you enjoyed, this product won't do the job.

Cost bump, average bricks
Peat bricks smell nice and last a decent amount of time - maybe 45 min to 1 hour. The smell is nice, but not as powerful as I had in IRE when I visited. The worst part about it is the price. I used to be $24.99 with free prime shipping. Now it is $28 with $9.99 shipping. Can't afford that anymore...

Heavenly Scent
Since purchasing this product I've been asked by several people as they've stepped through my door, "What is that heavenly scent I'm smelling"? It is such a unique and homey smell that once you've experienced it you'll never quite be able to get it out of your mind. I've had it described to me as an earthy baked holiday ham sort of smell. The way I best describe it as comforting and home. The amount you pay for the amount you receive is an incredible deal. I would highly recommend this product to everyone! Looking forward to trying it out on the BBQ but for now it's wonderful burning with the logs on these cold snowy winter nights in Utah.

These are amazing!
Love this product! I used it along with regular charcoal briquettes and using one is enough. I am sure my neighbors were all getting hungry smelling the peat. Once you light it be ready for it to last a long time. I had one last about 6 hours. After my BBQ and my company left I just grabbed some frozen chicken breasts out of the freezer and threw them on the grill since the peak was still really hot. It cooked that in no time and I then roasted some marshmallow. It was still lit around midnight so I sliced up some bananas and threw them on the grill and closed the lid and in the morning the bananas were just perfectly grilled and the peat was finally out. I would say they last anywhere from 6-8 hours. We have enjoyed chicken, burgers, Bison burgers, grilled veggies, grilled onions and garlic. I can't wait to use it again. If you are going to have just a small cookout you could easily get away with using half of one brick. The aroma and taste is like nothing you have ever had unless you have been to Ireland.

Not very pleased with these briquettes
Not very pleased with these briquettes. The package arrived in a sorry state, with a number of the briquettes inside crushed to the point of being unusable. The briquettes also seemed to have been exposed to moisture, as there was visible condensation inside the box when it arrived, and the product was nearly impossible to light. I've purchased Irish peat briquettes from Irish Fire Logs in the past, and their product is superior in every way - from the packaging, to the included fire starters, and even the peaty scent they produce. I would not recommend Ireland Earth to anyone looking for Irish peat.
