Beautiful knife
Great knife. Which the flipper had jimping, I’ve slipped off it a few times but still a great action on it. Real nice tension on the frame lock and it’s has beautiful scales. Well worth the money

Beautiful knife. Now, if only I could OPEN the damn thing...
Let me start off by saying this is a beautiful knife. The anodized titanium scales were great to look at and the texturing gave them a great feeling in the hand and a nice firm grip. The fit and finish were really great and the blade was centered and locked up nice and tight. The lines of the knife and the blade really were perfect for my aesthetic, and the knife is well balanced. The slim line fits in the pocket without crowding. The blade could have been sharper. Maybe even a lot sharper. HOWEVER- the flipper didn't work worth a damn. I could get the blade to deploy with the flipper around one in 30 tries. I think several things came into play to cause this;1)The basic design of the flipper is too small, along with the angle not working with most fingers 2) The relationship between the flipper location and the rest of the blade just do not seem to mesh 3)The detente was quite firm and getting the blade to start even if I had my finger in the right position on the flipper took a lot of work. These things combined made getting the knife open one handed pretty much impossible for me. Other than the flipper, there is no way to open the knife short of pinching the blade open with the off hand. No thumb-studs, no nail groove. The frame-lock really does lock up tight. The flip side is you really need to push hard to get it out of the way. It seemed it required twice the distance and pressure to get it far enough out of the way so I could close the knife, but that is something I could easily learn to live with. The pocket clip worked well, with a firm grip but not one that would leave a furrow on the pants.Along with the knife came a polishing cloth and a cool little zip pouch in an urban camouflage that would hold 3-4 knives or work as a handy organizer pouch, both nice touches.I wanted to contact Kizer to mention the flipper issue, but the only way I see to contact them is through facebook or messenger. As I am one of the few who are not involved in any social-media this bothers me because I'd love to let Kizer know about this in the hopes that they might have a remedy for this issue. I really want this knife, except it isn't a knife in my world unless it readily and easily opens so it can be used as a knife. The tip of my finger is still sore from the flipper...*sigh*

Shockingly good.
I reluctantly purchased this knife with fear of it being lower quality than most US made knives, but my bias was thrown out the moment I messed around with this blade. First off: The steel used on this blade is premium 30v series, meaning it will hold an edge much lomger than most blades but will also be a bit hard to sharpen. The titanium handles are very well executed, and the framelock with adjustment works flawlessly. I will admit that this blade did arrive rather tight, but any knife person worth their salt knows how to loosen up a good framelock. After applying a little common sense, and a healthy amount of Benchmade Blue Lube, this blade flips like a dream. Its nice and compact, light, and rather small for such a long blade. This is more of a dagger than a knife in my eyes haha, it just has a look that is hard to find anywhere else, compliments of US Designer TomCat Knives. All in all, this knife has made a hardcore blade collecter happy happy happy. I would dismiss most of these negative reviews talking about it being too tight, or not opening, as previously mentioned it just takes a little common sense to adjust. Given the quality, fit and finish, and materials, with the addition of the great look of this knife, and only con being Chinese made. I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars. Great buy for any Knife lover.

Spectacular Gentleman's Flipper
I absolutely love this little flipper. It is solid but very light and disappears in the pocket. It's practically perfect for office or business casual EDC.The Splinter is smaller and lighter than I imagined, but that's a good thing. The anodized titanium scales, spacer and pocket clip are beautifully done, adding a subtle multi-color effect. The ergonomics are shockingly good for a knife this small and thin. Whether opened or closed, I don't want to put it down. The S35vn blade is thankfully very sharp because the sharpening choil doesn't appear to be all that useful; perhaps the only real weakness of this knife. Fortunately, with S35vn, I probably won't need to sharpen the blade in my lifetime and it will become my kids' problem when I pass it down to them in 20 or 30 years. The most surprising thing to me about the Splinter is the action. The action is amazingly good. The flipper tab is very comfortable and the blade deploys with authority when flipped. The lock bar is super easy and comfortable to use and the blade folds with a light, hydraulic smoothness that is super addictive. In my opinion, the action on the Splinter is very similar to the ZT 450 and 460 with a slightly lighter detent. You cannot ride the brakes (press on the lock bar) while flipping any of these knives. But it's super easy to avoid the lock bar by putting your fingers on the pocket clip. Presto! It flips like a beast. The Kizer Splinter by TomCat is a high quality flipper and an amazing value.

Ouch.
Very nice and well made knife. Just to small for me. Hard to handle if large hands. Very very sharp out of the box!! Beware!! I cut myself 3 times trying to function this knife with large hand. As said, very nice and very good looking but sorry I had to trade this one off.
