That's My Story was recorded and released in 1960 and features a more strip backed acoustic sound than his other recordings of the time. Features backing by acoustic bassist Sam Jones and drummer Louis Hayes, both Cannonball Adderley sidemen on most of the tracks, but a few feature John unaccompanied. Tracks:"I Need Some Money" "Come on and See About Me" "I'm Wanderin'" "Democrat Man" "I Want to Talk About You" "Gonna Use My Rod" "Wednesday Evenin' Blues" "No More Doggin' " "One of These Days" "I Believe I'll Go Back Home" "You're Leavin' Me, Baby" "That's My Story"

One of my favorites
Excellent fidelity. Although some of the songs start to sound the same, it doesn't matter, it is thorough enjoyment start to finish.

When you have the chance to hear it on a good vinyl pressing
I hope that Amazon gets more reissues of John Lee Hooker's catalog. His voice was one of the most haunting there was. When you have the chance to hear it on a good vinyl pressing; you should take it. While there isn't a great deal of musical variation between the tracks; it makes little difference. The story and the voice telling it are the most captivating things about this release.

Classic blues
This is a great collection if early Hooker acoustic gems. The vinyl quality is excellent. It's pure unadulterated country blues.

Great quality
Excellent sound reproduction. I have another John Lee Hooker album on CD, but the quality doesn't match this one on vinyl.
