An absolute masterpiece!
I absolutely loved G. James Daichendt's last book, Stay Up! Los Angeles Street Art, so when I heard that not only was he coming out with a new book about Shepard Fairey, but that he compares him to Thomas Kinkade, I was sold! I have been long awaiting this new book and as always, Daichendt astounds! The visuals and insight create a beautiful work of art in and of itself, often moreso than the topics it highlights. Whether you are an avid reader, underground graffiti writer, gallery curator or part of any other creative field, this is a MUST READ story!

Another home run for G. James Daichendt! An A+ Book!
I love this book! Harvard Grad, Associate Dean and Professor G.James Daichendt does it again with another great book! This is a beautiful looking book with great photos and it's also interesting and fun to read. This is NOT a fluff, kiss A$$ book about Shepard Fairey. This is an honest look at one of the most important, famous, infamous and influential artists of our time. This is an awesome book. I don't usually buy books unless I plan to look at them over and over. This is one of those books! Buy one for yourself and buy one as a gift for any street art/graffiti fan in your family. A+

An observation of the evolution of the artists career. ...
An observation of the evolution of the artists career. This book outlines what Shepard aims to convey through his chosen medium but mainly focusses on how the 'Obey' label materialised, legal obstacles graffiti artists are confronted with and what his followers connect with eg what it means to be part of a sub culture/ scene . It outlines his success as a business entrepreneur and educator, and highlights his ability to create pieces of art which appeal to people from all socio economic backgrounds. It also explores the differences between graffiti and street artists and displays examples which show how artists have overcome the battle to attain legal public spaces to showcase their work.
