I've used this dictionary for ESL students before, and it is great for beginning learners.

It was not as practical as I thought. The exercises were to find things in the dictionary and look up this page and that page. I think it just needs to focus on the meaning of the words without trying to look up somewhere else what the word means.

This workbook is great for giving my ESL students more practice using new English vocabulary. It is good for starting conversations using even more vocabulary. It is very helpful that the page numbers follow the page numbers in the matching Oxford Picture Dictionary exactly.

Excellent, comprehensive text for high beginner ESL learners. I'm volunteering with newly arrived Yazidi refugees. The authentic looking graphics enables people with no English language to recognize products and situations in our culture.

This is one resource I turn back to again and again to help my students really learn English. The categories are in logical order, and almost every word in common, day-to-day usage is in the textbook, so students can learn a lot in a short time. The exercises are not always the most 'fun', but they're usually interesting enough to get the students through the lesson painlessly.
