Niman Ranch Uncured Sausage, Chorizo, 0.75 lb

Very nice chorizo. It's spicier than I expected--a bit of heat there--but not so much it's intolerable for my taste. I can't handle very spicy foods, and I order "mild" at Thai, Indian, and Mexican restaurants. I grew up eating Spanish chorizo in various soups/stews that mom made (cultural thing), and it's my fave sausage. This one is leaner than a lot, has a nice "clean" taste, has that bit of heat, and is just plain good. That it comes from a quality ranch is a bonus.If you've never had a Spanish omelette with chorizo, potato, and onions, give it a go. It's delicious. These would no doubt beautifully enhance a black bean, red bean, or garbanzo soup/stew.(Note: for those who aren't huge fans of casing, I found the casing very easy to remove and the interior kept its shape even as I fried it up with onions for an omelette filling.)

I'm usually very picky when it comes to sausages and this one really surprised me with the quality. First thing to note is that this is actually spicy which for me is a very good thing. The quality of the meat is very high and has a nice texture. The seasoning is very tasty though I would not necessarily call it authentic. The natural casing is also of a very high quality and gives it a nice snap when eaten as is. I enjoyed it very much and will continue to buy this product regularly!

I bought it on amazon fresh to try based on the package claims, organic, raised the natural way and USA product. It turn out to be a great buy it’s not greasy or heavy, it’s very tasty the family loved it. The sausage can be made in so many ways unlike regular chorizo, we added it to couscous, warm salads, for breakfast of course, and many more options. Now since it’s not available on amazon I will look for it and stock up, so worth it. Delicious!!

Great value and awesome taste

Bought this hoping for a Spanish style Chorizo for a tapas recipe and was hugely disappointed - this is dry, overly spicy and has the wrong texture. Whole Foods sells excellent fresh chorizo in their display cases and I was hoping Amazon would stock something similar, but this definitely wasn’t it - the excessive spice overpowered the flavor of the dish we were making, and the complex chorizo flavors didn’t come through. We ended up not finishing this package and won’t buy it again - would love to see a different brand available.

This chorizo is absolutely delicious. It has just the right amount of spice. I've served it in soup (my caldo verde recipe) and in salads. I've repurchased a few times and don't see myself buying from another brand anytime soon.

Very good product, tasty but at the same not over done with spices and condiments. The only one that tastes like real mexican chorizo. Highly recommended
