MicroAir Easy Start 364 - RV Air Conditioner Soft Start - Run AC with 1 Generator

Keystone Outback trailer with EasyStart™ 364 on Coleman-Mach 3+ 13,500 BTU AC unit is marvelous. Our power source is a Yamaha EF2400iSHC invertor. Prior to this install the Yamaha would occasionally trip its circuit in extreme heat. The EasyStart solved tripping problems by improving AC starts. The Yamaha easily powers the AC at over 7,000’ elevation, has improved fuel economy and reduced noise. The install was fairly easy however the brain box barely fits into the space within the Coleman-Mach 3+. I needed to relocate exiting Coleman cans within this space to fit the brain box.

Simple install on my older model RV. Coleman 13.5k btu ac unit. Worked as advertised. I do a lot of dry camping in the summer & power my rig with a Predator 3500 inverter generator. It really struggled running the ac before this install. Now, it has no problem what so ever. Pulls 12.9 amps at start up & drops to 12.0 amps in operation. 1476 watts, so 1/2 my generator running watts.Installation kit provided was top notch. Quality pieces for connection

Very high end quality components and well designed. High priced considering the job it has to do. I am able to run my 13,500 btu Coleman Mach of a 2k watt starting/ 1.6k watt running inverter generator

The media could not be loaded.  This Micro Air is the best thing since sliced bread.. it works perfect. Installed in one hour. I now have a Honda E2000 which runs on Eco mode for 8 hour on one gallon of gas with the AC on all day and night. Can’t stress how much I love this Micro Air. I’ve told so many people about it, I feel like I should become a sales rep for the company. I installed one for my friend and when their truck broke down on the side of the road, they started up their generator and ran the AC in their camper while they waited for AAA to arrive.

The unit works good as long as the temp. is below 95. Unit will trip on internal overload, if temp is above 95, because the A/C unit needs full start amps, in hot weather.

My RV is plugged into a long extension and results in a fair amount of voltage drop with big loads. When my compressor would kick on I would see a reduction in my voltage from 115V down to 95V for a short period while the compressor started. This was low enough that my power management system would shut down the shore power frequently. When I installed this product, I no longer see voltage drops of more than a couple volts and everything seems to run much more smoothly. I can even start and run the AC now with my inverter system and it draws about 1500W at peak start of the compressor. A huge difference from before when it would shut down my inverter system with the peak locked rotor amperage necessary to get it going.

I ordered the EasyStart A/C soft start system because the reviews are great. After receiving the product, I installed it to the best of my ability, come to find out I didn't do it right.(no cool air) I went to the Amazon family, (you guys) to see if anyone else had the same problem. The 1st response was to call Hutch Mountain. They can fix it. I called Clayton at Hutch Mountain and told him about my problem. He thought through my problem, asked me to text him some pix of my wiring and get back to him when I was ready to go through it. He walked me through the wiring, and to my suprise, I had done it right until I got to the last wire. I had used a splice connector to attach the blue wire. I guess I didn't get good enough contact because when Clayton told me to cut the wire and attached it with a wire cap, presto, I had cool air. Hutch Mountain sells an installation kit that has all the hardware and connectors for the wiring, which I would recommend for first timers. I'm a seasoned pro now and have all the right connectors to do the job We have 4 trailers and I have already ordered the next EasyStart for the 2nd trailer. Hutch Mountain provided a great product and SUPERB SERVICE. This is the same type of service we provide in our business, and the type of service that people expect. Not so true in today's world. Easy install, works well. Does everything it says it does, allows our 14,000BTU air conditioner to start up on baby sized generators (or even modern battery power stations like an EcoFlow Delta or similar). Buying from Hutch Mountain you get a very nice install kit which is super easy. Hardest part was figuring out how to place the unit in the AC housing. (Well that and the ladder up to the roof of my camper...)
