Coleman Thermoelectric Cooler Replacement 8 ft. Power Cord w/Fuse

Some of the reviews about Fuses associated this product are wrong, so this review will initially deal with that. The fuse in this replacement is the same as the original.It's a glass tube fuse that is 7.5 amp, 250 volt ad 1-1/8" in length. After testing a series of higher amperage fuses I've realized it's very important to stick with the original amps. Replacing it with a higher amperage fuse will absolutely cause heat problems. It can get so hot as to burn your hand and can make burning smells.I will not review the usage of the whole product until I've used it for a few months.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that this is SOLID. The plastic is 10 times better than the cheap, thin plastic on the one I replaced. The old one just decided to fall apart one day. I'm posting 3 pics. One is the old crappy one, one is the new one, and the thirds is the new one next to the parts of the old one. The build quality is great. This is solid thick plastic that reminds me of the plastic that is used in those old griddle burner plug-ins, with the dial on it. The new one even has a screw and nut holding it together. The old was just stupid, crappy thin plastic, with maybe some crappy glue holding it together. While I had it opened, I used some canned air to blow away dust on the fan, and it works better than ever.

I purchased this because the last cord dc plug just burnt up. I took my truck in. The socket was showing correct bolts no surges in all plugs in my truck. So I purchased this new one. Lasted 2 days and the dc plug burnt up so you can’t replace the fuse the threads melted. These are absolute junk.

All I have to say is wow!I've never had a product ship so fast in my life these guys were on 🔥!As far as the plug goes it couldn't have been easier to install.On my cooler it was a direct connection took me longer to open the package then it did for me to fix my cooler seriously.It came with a fuse already installed and seemed to be a lot more heavy duty then what was originally on it.I'm super happy for the results. And also it came with step by step instructions for those who aren't really good at repairs ( course I'm a guy and well we'll burn the house down before ever reading a instruction book lol)Warning on taking the old plug off of the connection's the wires are extremely small and brittle and can come apart easily. I had to rewire a new wire plug on my ground side but it wasn't hard

It works but wired wrong. I connected the correct wiring color and plugs but it didn’t work. After reading another review of the same issue that worked after they switched the colors I tried that. It worked perfectly after connecting the wires differently then you should. Problem was the connectors are sized different so you can only install one way. I had to remove the connectors and splice on opposite way

My Coleman electric cooler which we have had for about 10 years was not working due to the power cord with the cigarette lighter socket. I ordered the 8-foot power cord replacement through Amazon and it arrived in the appropriate time for $14.99. It did not work, so after doing some additional trouble shooting I found that the fuse in the new cord was defective. After replacing it with a fuse from another power cord for a different device the cooler worked fine once again. Coleman is probably the one to receive the low rating since I was pleased with Amazon's service.

I replaced a broken one on my cooler. I live an hour and1/2 away from the store and need to get my food hoe in good shape. Without the new cord my ice chest would not function well.

My cooler was acting finicky. Worked only some of the time. Tried changing fuse but came to realize cord was fried out. Found exact match on Amazon and got in 2 days. Cooler is working like a charm. Timing was good as we had a storm that left me without power for 3 days so my Coleman cooler moved into my car and became my refrigerator.

I used this product to repair a damaged cord. The product came on time but the package lacked instructions, which is fine if you have internet service as it would be easy enough to find instructions, but not convenient for those that may lack the ability of internet service.

Arrived early. A little tricky to install because the connectors are small. However this is an OE replacement so it’s a manufacturer issue not a supplier problem. Works the way it’s supposed to.

Item better quality than origional. Esay to install-works great.
